Dear Governor and Todd Palin,
We understand you are expecting your first grandchild in the near future, and would like to extend a sincere wish for your family's peace and happiness.
Not every preganancy situation is perfect, but every child is precious and is a blessing from God. May you and Bristol enjoy this new little life, and may she be allowed to enjoy the joyous moments of pregancy that every woman is entitled to.
Please forgive the attacks of outsiders on a very private family matter, and please know that you have the support of millions of caring and praying Americans.
Bless this little life and bless Bristol as she makes this challenging, but incomparably rewarding, transition to parenthood.
I became a grandfather for the first time on Thanksgiving Day in 2007. What a wonderful feeling it is to welcome a new family member. It is an exciting time for a new grandparent, one that will bring out feelings of great pride as you watch your child experience the joys of a new baby just as you did years ago. You will love becoming reacquainted with toy stores as you seek out the noisiest toys you can find!! I just did that (again) Saturday evening.. LOL. Another child of God!! Alleluia!

She’s already 17. That’s like an old lady compared to Jamie Lynn Spears, who said motherhood was a wonderful experience. I saw it on the cover of People magazine or one of its clones - teen pregnancy is cool, y’all!
I’m not shocked by the level of misogyny coming from the Democrats, just shocked by how blatent it is.
Who cares if the daughter is pregnant? I can’t believe they’re openly judging her for “finding herself as a sexual being.” Maybe they’re just sad that now they can’t make fun of her for being a prude.

I believe this nastiness, which appears endemic to liberal trash, will come back and bite them big time.

Very well said. Unwed motherhood is rarely, if ever, anything to rejoice over. But, the baby should be welcomed, and the mother should know that “the quality of mercy is not strained.” Hopefully, the Governor and her husband will help everyone understand that this is a very private matter, to be kept within the family.
Pregant, unwed teens used to be a horror story in Alaska. 36 per 1000 in 1991, the rate now has dropped to 18 per 1000 - while nationally the rate is still 23 per 1000 (ages 15 17)
THe child will have benifit of an extenedd family, proper (pre-natal) heath care and grandparents with the ability to handle the situation.
