excerpts ... He tried to rent a room at the Metro Hotel in Woking, after spending longer than expected in the town. He was asked for ID and showed them his military pass. But staff told him it was company policy to turn away members of the Armed Forces.
'Soldiers don't get treated like this in America. There they are treated like heroes but here they are being treated like scum. It is heartbreaking.' [ <-- AMEN!]

“Of course NOBODY in the MSM ever mentioned that during the 2004 campaign”
Fortunately, the Swift Vote Veterans for Truth were able to get the word out.
I’m sticking with agere ;-)
Not all Brits are fools and wimps.
Thank you for that...its the least we can do for our fine men and women.
Yeah, they look like liberals................or vice versa
Gee. Did anybody notice the “Write a review” link on those pages?
I wonder if anybody on FR can write a creative and entertaining review about this hotel...
I thought of “Tommy” immediately. You would think that the
English would have learned that appeasement doesn’t work.
The Spanish have done it,and they breakup a terrorist cell
every other week in Barcelona.
We were at Yankee stadium last year. They panned two soldiers
on the scoreboard and keep the camera on them, as the fans
started to see them, they got an continuous ovation until
it ended in a standing ovation by almost 50,000 fans.IT was
great!

Awwww... aint that cute?
Look at the totality of the circumstances....
This is how the home villages of British culture treat their bravest patriots and sons?!?
Or remain in denial... and keep sinking!
FYI --
The metaphor of BIBLICAL judgment isnt "gay" at all...
But a recogizable and patterned foresight of imminent cultural implosion and social failure...
a.k.a-
You reap what you sow... and..
Careful how you make the bed -- you will lie in it tonight!
Well, most parts of America. I can think of a few college campuses....
The DC liberals would sneer at that wonderful spectacle.
ping!
I was just thinking of this poem after reading the article. Thanks.
“it was company policy to turn away members of the Armed Forces.”
Then the people who own the company can get a rifle and defend their own miserable selves.
Funnily enough, Kipling also had something to say about appeasement....
Dane-Geld
A.D. 980-1016
It is always a temptation to an armed and agile nation
To call upon a neighbour and to say:
We invaded you last nightwe are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away.
And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That youve only to pay em the Dane-geld
And then youll get rid of the Dane!
It is always a temptation for a rich and lazy nation,
To puff and look important and to say:
Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away.
And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But weve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.
It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to say:
We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that pays it is lost!
Rudyard Kipling
“Not all Brits are fools and wimps.”
Absolutely! But who is in charge?
I wonder if the poor soldier has ever heard Richard Thompson’s “Al Bowlee’s In Heaven, I’m In Limbo Now” song?
thanks for posting this to me
no words right now can express how I feel ,
I will say this however I would like to see the owner of this place,
...but then you repeat yourself.
thank you
Many of my fellow ex soldiers have stood next to American forces and have shed blood and have proved ourselves to the world
