Hurricane HANNAH: Wk 139, Olney,MD 9-06-08: Op. Infinite FReep
Sept. 06,2008

Posted on 09/06/2008 5:18:41 PM PDT by trooprally

Yes, Hurricane Hannah is spelled correctly, according to our granddaughter, HANNAH. The daughter of our Marine son stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC was a little upset this week because the biased media didn’t spell the hurricane’s name correctly.

The AAR thread title is pretty bland this week but I had a hard time thinking of one. Some thoughts were: FReepers take on Hannah, or Dumb FReepers take on Hannah, or Moonbat witches melt in wake of Hannah, our 8 year old granddaughter, or Our Troops have it Worst, or ???, you decide.

The list of 8 Patriots getting wet to support our troops were: Legionnaire Halsey (USMC - Korea), FReepers and Lurkers - Lurker Bill, 3DJoy, Cindy_True_Supporter, Fraxinus, Sensei Ern, [Mrs] Trooprally, aka [Mrs] T, and myself, [Mr] T.

Pics and video are by [Mrs] T

Special Note: 3DJoy is soon heading home and this may be her last D.C. FReep. 3D - THANK YOU for spending the summer with the D.C. Chapter. Your enthusiasm and lively personality will be missed. Have a safe trip home.

BELOW: 3D’s first night at Walter Reed, Week 166. Pic by Plea Deal

BELOW LEFT: Me and Sensei Ern. In order to keep my poncho hood on, I had to put my cap over it. Good thing the Marines buy American made hats, otherwise the red would have run. The brim was also good for keeping my cigars somewhat dry. BELOW RIGHT: Sensei Ern’s final hood adjustment.

BELOW LEFT: Sensei Ern and Fraxinus before getting wet. We were going to call it a day around 11PM, but by then we were as wet as we were going to get, so we stayed till 11:30. Then most of us retired to the Olney compound for lunch and some dry clothes. Actually, we dressed well and only our pants and shoes got wet. BELOW RIGHT: 3D’s umbrella was our only casualty. We didn't set up the big flags or the banners for obvious reasons.

BELOW LEFT: Halsey staying dry from the waist up. BELOW RIGHT: Cindy_True_Supporter - Oops, no pic of her today. Watch the video below to catch a glimpse of her.

[Mrs] T did get some video today (BELOW). You can hear the horns and see two waving supporters, but no "still" pics of our waving supporters. She also got some video of Cindy_True_Supporter on an obvious important call. At the beginning of the video, Sensei Ern is talking about the 6" praying mantis that was in his room last night. Also, pay attention at Time 4:46, the passing, waving supporters (pushing ‘pause/play’ you can see the hands waving from the dark SUV at 4:48); at Time 5:25 for the semi-truck’s air horn (again, use the ‘pause/play’ to see the truck driver waving to us at 5:29; and Time 6:14, I retrieving my sign from Sensei Ern after lighting another cigar.

FReeping Hurricane Hannah

I wonder if FOX will show some of the video in their search of hurricane videos.

Knowing that there would some day be a rainy Saturday with few pics, I’ve been saving the (BELOW) ones for just a Saturday as this. It is fair to say this local Baptist Church has a different view than Obambi’s “Rev.” Wright’s Church.

WARNING TO FREEPERS ATTENDING OLNEY - Some new money making SPEED CAMERAS have been installed on north bound Georgia Avenue right before you enter the main business district. Slow your speed after the light at King William Drive.

REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney
NEW TIME - 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

But a lot of verbal engagement in Olney is always welcome.

D.C. and Olney Ping Lists.

For the Olney Ping Listees, I’ll be working with BufordP to merge the Olney List into the D.C. Chapter Master Ping List. If you want OFF the D.C. Chapter Master Ping, just let me know.

There's more than one way to spell "Hannah" and the tropical storm/hurricane that came through was properly spelled HANNA. Check the National Hurricane Center.

Please read the AAR. You’ll understand my spelling of “HANNAH” and that I wasn’t really concerned how the Center spelled it.

Yep, they will be merged, but I’ll do most of the work.

I live in Lake Jackson Texas, first lived here in 1973, have owned property here since 1975 (lived in L A four times, but back in Texas now).

We have NEVER had ANY damage to our property due to a hurricane or tropical storm. We have been threatened with floods three times, but our house did not flood. Even when Alvin got 45 inches in 24 hours summer 1979, still the US record rainfall. Even when Houston flooded June 2001 Tropical Storm Allison. We never had any damage from natural disasters, just branches and limbs down. We have never made an insurance claim due to a storm, wind, rain, hail, flood, etc.

Yet I hear people say ALL THE TIME that no one should be allowed to live on the Gulf Coast where we have hurricanes. Well Hannah anad Gustav didn’t do anything to us here on the Texas Coast - just south of Houston. Gustav dumped torrential downpour rain on parts of Michigan, my friend lives there and got pounded. We didn’t get a drop! Hannah went up through the east coast and N.J., N.Y., Conn., Mass., Va., R.I., etc got pounded, no electricity on, flash floods, a few deaths. And that is AWFUL, but I hope people now realize that KATRINA was not the first, last or only hurricane here. Much of the time hurricanes come and go without causing a drop of rain to fall in my town on the coast. And hurricanes DO travel up the east coast. We surely cannot evacuate the entire Gulf and East Coastline permanently. We can build levees and evacuate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And what about those earthquakes and forest fires in California and tornadoes in the mid west?????? Shouldn’t live there either! LOL

Everyone wants/needs rain, just not all at one time. Just have to take Mother Nature as she comes, and learn to live within her house.

So, how did you like the rest of the AAR?
