Up until recently, for 10 years I was part of the team that did the testing on the current missile defense system (the one based in Alaska by the way). You are 100% correct. Obama doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

Um, the missile shield DOES NOT TARGET ANY LAND TARGETS, it targets INCOMING MISSILES. Therefore IT CANNOT “TARGET RUSSIA,” you imbecilic MORON (directed at the Obamanation, not at the poster). Sheesh.
I think Obama is trying to appease Putin and let him know he will order the shield to be programed to ignore Russia's incoming missiles.
I mean Obama claims he is more computer savvy than Senator McCain, he is just showing off that he understands how to get Russia and Europe to like us again using computer technology.

Even if they areed to this, a missle/defense shield with less than 360 degrees of coverage would be useless. Are the rogue nations going to agree to aim their missles at only the protected portion of the shield. And they say Palin is not ready?

I guess notions about “offensive” and “defensive” systems just don’t register with Hussein.
Hint: a “defensive” system is aimed at blocking attacks directed at you by those using “offensive” systems whose purpose is to inflict death and destruction on you and your people. The “defensive” system is passive and only responds to an attack while the “offensive” system is aggressive and meant specifically for attack.

That is correct.
A "Missile Shield" system consists of intercept missiles, surveillance and target tracking radars and a command and control system. As long as the system has radar coverage for the sector that would detect incoming Russian missiles at ranges that would allow an intercept then the system will defend against a Russian attack.
But this is only true if McCain becomes president. With Obama there would presumably be some technical limitation placed on the system that would protect the Russians from having to worry about any Polish defense if they decided to launch nuclear weapons at Poland. Is this stupidity or what? Obama is an idiot.
