YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- You just knew that when Joe O'Connell, former head of the local AFL-CIO, got on stage here with John McCain and Sarah Palin things were not going smoothly for the Obama campaign among union voters.

"I am a lifelong Democrat, an intelligent Democrat, who is supporting John McCain," O'Connell said last week as a crowd of 7,000 waved "Another Democrat for John McCain" signs and roared its approval.

Paybacks from union workers for affirmative action are a b*tch. Fact is people were bused in to take the jobs of people in Youngstown,OH; Akron, OH; Muncie, IN; and Richmond, IN auto plants. That was just before Carter allowed Japanese imports to cause even further job losses.

I know this because I was there. Friends were management and ex was an engineer for GM. Many people came begging for jobs. People affected by the plant closures lost their jobs and their homes.

Memories are long in those areas... trust that.

You are on to something here and someone with the talent to do so should prepare a layout of some kind showing just what you suggest. Then we can email it to everyone we know and ask they forward it.

I agree. But I would add that your financial plan should include buying carbon credits from Al Gore to compensate for the scrap pine you must burn in your stove this winter.

Nice to see the corrupt union bosses calling most of their members racist. These folks have minds of their own to choose how they want to vote, and I don’t think labor leaders, Obama, and polisci professors calling them racist is going to sit well with them.

States with a large membership in INDUSTRIAL and TRADE unions are where Todd Palin should campaign. He’s a member of the Steelworkers. Will they choose their ideology over their brother? Of course, the AFT, NEA, SEIU, AFGE and AFSCME are not included.
