That this is what Obama meant by "taking the gloves off". Especially given the timing of the video's release -- during the brief period when Obama trailed McCain in the polls, and when most of McCain's sudden surge was attributed to the popularity of Sarah Palin.
Are we supposed to be surprised?
Well of course he hired a PR firm to dig up the dirt. That’s what they do. They hate Sarah Palin and everything she stands for. They don’t just disagree politically with her, they hate her.
Obama follows his Bible, “Rules For Radicals”. In that famous Saul Alinsky book, Saul teaches his acolytes to ridicule the opposition with political smear campaigns. The Alinsky model is to do whatever it takes, whether or not it is legal or ethical.
The “dirt” turns out to be false. But you are dealing with people who have no scruples.

Right way: “Did the Obama’s pr firm dig up dirt on Palin?”
Gotta ask the right question or once proven false or unprovable tosses it away as an issue

Nothing wrong with digging up some dirt.
But, they had to spit on it to turn it into mud.
It appears they didn’t dig up the dirt. They purposely set out to make it up.
I would only be surprised if they had not done so.
Don’t be so sure.
The PR firm could have done this ‘pro bono’, so to speak.
Therefore the Obomer campaign staff can say they didn’t
‘hire’ the pr firm.
Anyone that can’t see the similarity between Obama’s strategy and every radical Islamic group is either blind, an idiot, or both. Do whatever it takes to move your agenda forward and don’t sweat lies and ethics...God will forgive you in the end.

I bet you’re right. If you go try to dig up dirt, and can’t find anything, then you just go and make up stories as you go along.
I don’t quite trust Obama and his team. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just go out and make things up, which has the effect of distracting us from the issues, candidates’ records, etc.
That’s what Dr. Shackleford spent so much time and ink teasing out. The question of whether this was a private family project or whether they were using paid employees on company time and whether or not they were coordinating with David Axelrod’s firms and whether or not they were being paid surreptitiously by the campaign itself or one of the 527’s indirectly.
That, and the fact that the FEC is essentially toothless are enough to make your head spin.
