Scandal, crime, politicsthe story had nearly all the makings of a blockbuster, a surefire Drudge link, no less. So why did it seem that nobody in big-time journalism wanted to report it?
At about 4 a.m. on Sept. 16, images of e-mails from Alaska Gov. Sarah Palins private Yahoo account were posted to a bulletin board on the site 4Chan.org. The pilfered e-mails were posted by someone with the nickname rubico, whose account was linked to the address rubico10@yahoo.com.

‘Bigtime journalism’ is a propaganda arm of the DNC. Surely you’ve figured out by now that the media is the fifth column enemy of the Republic!
mark
Yes, so why do we elevate them with such names as “Mainstream” Media, or the vague “driveby” media? They are the communications arm of the Democratic Party. The Democratic Press Corps. They have nothing to do with journalism. They are precisely as you describe, the propaganda arm of the DNC and should NEVER be called anything else. What the heck is the matter with us?
Make that The Democrat Press Corps.

You realize this is an old topic?
There were numerous threads on FR about this at that time.
If search was up, I’d post some links.
Yep. I realize the topic is old. But the article isn’t and it has a nice timeline of what did and didn’t get followed (by the MSM).
“Make that The Democrat Press Corps.”
Agreed, but when will we stop giving them the benefit of the doubt? When we start calling them what they are? Even Rush does it. Drive by? They are not drive by, they are THE DEMOCRATS. Hannity calls them “Main Stream Media” as do many, many others. They are no longer Main Stream, they are not even simply advocates, or “like minded”. Doesn’t anyone remember gravitas? How could such an obscure word (at the time) end up in the mouths of EVERY pundit on TV and radio at the same time. (This was in reference to the selection of Chenny as Bush’s VP in the first term, for those of you who are voting for the first time this year.)
Democrat Propaganda Corpse (sic).
The Democrat Media (vanity)

I like P Media for Proganda Media, or DPC Media for Democratic Press Corps Media. It needs to be short and snappy like drive by media.

Jeff had it right, Democrat Press Corps. DPC. Anything, really, that tells the truth. I mean it’s not even debatable anymore. These people are DEMOCRATS, why not say so?
When did conservative leaders, in the media and elected, decide that Main Stream, if repeated often enough, was a pejorative? Even “elite” media is way off the mark. We have elite fighting forces. How is that pejorative?
I realize that all these names are meant to be a wink, wink, inside slam, but it isn’t working, so why not just say what we all know to be the truth. Heck, the Dems have no problem saying it about Fox and there’s no way you can say it’s an all red network. But you can say ABC, CBS, and NBC are all blue networks. Oh, excuse me, I forgot about George Will. That’s right, they’ve covered the bow-tied Ivy League conservative demographic. Not all blue. Never mind.
PS. Thanks for the input bioqubit. :-)
Good Lord - now I've seen everything on Free Republic.
The posting police whacking somebody over the head with a "couldawouldashoulda" - 'if only search was up'
Get a life, chuck.
I love ya all like my Freeper brothers and sisters, upchuck, but since I quit being on Free Republic 20 hours a day 7 years ago, I realized that not everyone sees EVERY thread. So a little dupe is nice for us slackers.
BTW - I used to catalog every thread back in the beginning of FR, so I'm aware of the multiple posting issue. In spades.
:-)
