Reports continue to come in that Barack Obama’s Presidential Campaign is threatening legal action against his critics.
On Tuesday (September 23), CBS affiliate KMOV reported that Obama had enlisted a number of Missouri law enforcement officials, including local sheriffs and prosecutors, “to target anyone who lies or runs a misleading television ad [against Obama] during the presidential campaign."
The CBS report is the latest of several incidents where the Obama campaign has threatened critics with civil or criminal prosecution. According to World Net Daily, his campaign “also sent ‘threatening’ letters to several news agencies in Pennsylvania and Ohio demanding they stop airing ads exposing Obama's gun stance. In addition, “Obama’s lawyers twice demanded the Department of Justice investigate and prosecute the American Issues Project, its officers, board of directors, and donors,” for running ads critical of Obama’s ties to “unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers.”
Obama himself has also urged tough measures against people who fail to back him, telling a group of supporters in Nevada recently to “argue with and…get in [the] face(s)” of Republican and independent voters.

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that have exposed plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics.
“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.
“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.
“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.
“Barack Obama needs to grow up. Leftist blogs and others in the press constantly say false things about me and my family. Usually, we ignore false and scurrilous accusations because the purveyors have no credibility. When necessary, we refute them. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.”

I am beginning to think the US has been taken over by the body snatchers...
how so called intelligent people have been soooo brainwashed is beyond my comprehension-
I guess when Dems can justify killing babies they can justify anything...Mother Teresa said, “As long as a baby isn’t safe in its mothers womb no one will be safe.”
I think we may be on the brink and NOT SAFE....even if McCain wins they will riot and scream and do whatever....and justify it all.
I suggest downloading the stories so if the websites are brought down we can still pass the information around.
I have noticed in the past that Drudge is very slow to post anything new on the weekend. Maybe he is gathering information and will do a proper expose. If not then the talk shows need to be e-mailed this story and/or the links.
McCain’s camp needs to get this also, if they already have not so they can address it at the right time during the news cycle.
If the talk shows pick it up Monday then Drudge will report. If Drudge reports then the campaign will pick it up. McCain needs to make this a front-and-center story in his next speech.
Every Republican elected official of any standing needs to pile onto Obama for this one.

Did not actually get to see the Drudge stories, only heard tell of their existence from several eyewitnesses whom I have no reason to doubt.

Communistic manuevering on Obama’s part. He better watch out or he will end up in jail.
They are, however, assholes.
Why shouldn't he, with the media talking him up as if he is God himself, without sin, perfect, and can do no wrong?
Mark my words, God is not mocked. HE will cause something to happen that will humble Obama, however WE have to stay in prayer. Pray for our Nation--this time our very lives depend on it.
The last guy who mocked the Lord dramatically (Herod) got eaten up with worms right in front of everybody. God doesn't do things that showy anymore, but there are days I wish He would. Congress has yet to experience the fear of God.

Adolph was a sick piece of work, wasn’t he? Another illustration of his cold efficiency is that he had people all lined up to take over the care of pets when their owners were shipped off to concentration camps. I doubt Obama has planned that far ahead.

As I have said for some time now, if things really get tight at the end, watch for the Clintons to act. There is no way they will permit Obama to win. That would mean, in effect, no shot at the White House for 8 more years. To think that the Clintons would accept that flies in the face of Clinton history. They are power mad, ruthless and willing to do whatever it takes to sink Obama. They are hoping that the natural gravity of his incompetence and inexperience will eventually take hold of the independents and Reagan Democrats, which I expect will be the case. But count on the fact that they have Obama nukes in their arsenal and are ready to push the button if things look close the last two weeks.
Wolf Blitzer, Keith Olbermann and the other idiot box talking heads as well as people's own local print media that will never explain the radical left's war on America and how it has manifested itself through incremental change.
