This is precisely why I have been a strong opponent of the Patriot Act.

I have no problem with the Bush Administration's use of the new government powers for our security,,,,but,,,BUT,,,

once the 'faces change' in Washington--

imagine what a far-left, liberal EXTREMIST Hussein Administration would do with expanded government SURVEILLANCE POWERS!!!!

When it comes to intimidation, government control, government surveillance, government harassment,,,

YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET!!!

When is the civil war going to start?

I've been calling it the Second American Revolution.

With the bailout and nObama's continued abrogation of our First Amendment rights, IMHO, the revolution is closer than you might think.

We've also seen:
- An Obama "Truth Squad" formed in Missouri.
- Sarah Palin's private email hacked.
- Jewish groups threatened unless they disinvite her from their rally at the UN.
- Criminal investigation threats against the sponsor of a TV ad that connects Obama to Bill Ayres.
- Attempts to shut down WGN for interviewing Stanley Kurtz.

If Obama and his henchmen can do that when he's not even president, imagine what they could do to their critics, if he does become president and they've got the IRS, CIA, FBI, FCC, SEC, and the rest of the government alphabet soup at their disposal.

Scary, indeed.

“Just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can’t constrain the exercise of that right.”
— [Obama] 2008 Philadelphia Democratic Primary Debate”

An interesting concept for a supposed teacher of constitutional law. Whereas there is no such thing as a completely unrestrained power to exercise a right (even freedom of speech is subject to not shouting “fire” in a crowded theater) the selective incorporation doctrine has pretty much applied to states and subordinate local governments the federal constitutional rights. States and local governments cannot do that which Congress can’t do unless the constitution were to specifically say they could regarding rights and violations thereof.

Some rights, such as freedom of speech, are jealously guarded by the courts and only in extreme and rare cases is a restriction found constitutional.

Back to the topic: If the NRA has already entered into a contract with the TV stations then they should sue Obama’s campaign for tortious interference with contract. Or with prospective contract if they are just looking in the market, if the stations buckle.

Proof is in the pudding...

http://www.nraila.org/Issues/Articles/Read.aspx?id=286&issue=042

Excerpt:

“And here lies the seminal moment for state Senator Barack Obama. When Obama turned thumbs down on the bill, he voted against the most basic element of the Second Amendment— the right of defense of self and family— the reason that millions of Americans own firearms.

When the governor vetoed the bill, Obama once again voted against a citizen’s right to self-defense. Despite his vote, the veto override passed the Senate and the House by overwhelming majorities, thereby enacting this bill into law.”

The actual Illinois Senate records with his vote are also on record. Ir seems about the only things he bestirred himself about enough to vote was for gun control and killing newborns.

We need to all email Hannity hannity@foxnews.com this article and have him also get the senate records. I have seen them, they are available on line - I'm to tired tonight to stay up any longer....

Nice to meet you Jim’s wife:) But I am starting to get SCARED big time. In previous elections I grumbled when I thought it may not turn out the way I wanted and I griped about the changes that may come, but this is very different. This is down in my gut making me sick and it is in my heart tearing it apart.

I love my country and our way of life and I feel like she is on her death bed.

I am even afraid if McCain wins. What is the reaction going to be? But above all, Obama is the scarriest thing I have ever encountered. Truth is however, he is NOTHING. He is simply a puppet with a big mouth, dutifully obedient to the strings attached to him. Who are those people and how do we expose them?

When I get done with this letter from the Obama campaign, they can send me a cease and desist letter, and I will tell them what they can do with it.

Nice to meet you too:) I lurk here a lot, and actually lurked here for awhile before Jim started posting. I post occasionally, usually w/out the “Jim’s wife” tag.
I agree that 0bama is very scary, I hope and pray that he won’t be elected, really despite the media spinning for him day and night, I don’t think it will happen. I have to admit, I’ll sleep a lot better when this election is over.
Mrs Jim:)

this guy is so thin-skinned

i bet it bothers the heck out of him that people will be voting against him in the millions and various states will reject him

and oh yeah the possibility more states than those he won will reject him (something most libs have to deal w/ in close victories)
