Will John Fight Back?
29-sep-2008 | epluribus_2

Posted on 09/29/2008 4:33:37 AM PDT by epluribus_2

Will John McCain have the courage to state in straight- talk fasion, "Well meaning but naive and short-sighted Democratic party policies and legislation is at the heart of the meltdown of our financial markets" to try to turn the tide of lies we have all witnessed this past week? And that he challenged them multiple times. Average swing-state Joes and Janes are ready to accept this but noone is saying it. Noone. (except Bill C.)

Well , you can lose at hope . You hope something happens and it doesn’t . Choice - that’s what you’ve got .

Nope.

If he does the press will spin this about how the mean-spirited Republicans don’t want to help poor people buy houses.

The only way it would work is if all the Republicans in DC — including the President — would say this same thing. It’s amazing what can happen when people are unified.

But that won’t happen.

I certainly hope so. The truth about this must get out to the general public.

“I certainly hope so. The truth about this must get out to the general public”.

...the general public, with their utter disregard for reading, make me angry. Any and all info on BO’s ties to terrorism, Chicago thuggery, Rev Wright etc is only a “google” away.

I'm an optimist. It's my approach to life. I'm also a realist and recognize that disappointment is a part of life. I deal with it when it comes.

This outlook has served me well.

That's what I've got.

To me, this is the great flaw of W. Not fighting. Just standing there and taking it. W thinks in the end (future history) he will be vindicated by doing the right things.

Reagan knew if the did not go over the heads of the media and get to the people, evil people would fill the message void.

McCain right now has COMPLETELY LOST the notion that he is a maverick reformer. America bought at first his claim to be headed to Washington for a house cleaning with a barricuda at his side. Where are they?

I can see that the current story was won by Obama, the Democrats, and the big-city media. You can see it in their smugness. And it was won by default - lack of message. And please get Bush off the TV screen, it hurts us, bad.

John - I’m begging ya, with a thumbs up, to get mad, fight back, tell the truth nomatter who gets fried. We’re going down and you have the stick. PULL UP, PULL UP... and ENGAGE!!!!

I’m so glad that I voted for Huckabee. Because he’s the only one of all the contenders who is clearly against the bailout.

His not taking a stand against the bailout gives democrats the talking points, “Bush McCain pushed deregulation for their rich buddies and now they want to bail them out with YOUR money and give them tax cuts.” It’s over. What is pathetic is how much power Bush is willing to give President Obama and Pelosi Reid congress. I have some hope that house republicans will take a stand but McCain jsut gave the rats the gun and bullets. His plan to claim he lead congress to a deal could never work, democrats were ahaed of that one.

-- Because [Huckabee is] the only one of all the contenders who is clearly against the bailout. --

Fred Thompson was against the Freddie and Fannie bailouts. I dunno if he's changed his tune in light of new fears. Not that Ron Paul was ever a contender, but he's obviously against the bailout.

McCain will probably be against this - in that he'll call it a bitter pill, one that should not have to be taken - at the same time he supports it as necessary to prevent something worse.

Mr. “I know economics” Romney seemed like he was for the bailout.

He must. If one believes the polls then more undecideds are deferring Husseins vast economic experience.

Unfortunately, when a crisis looms, McCain’s first instinct is to find a “bipartisan” solution. He considers it to be unseemly to blame the crisis on anyone, even if they’re obviously guilty, and even if they’re brazenly blaming innocent parties for the crisis to cover up their own culpability.

They don’t call the GOP the stupid party for nothing.

He is going to have to change his mantra from “Maverick” to something else. I hate what they are doing to Sarah as well. She is becoming a spin machine as well.

They are starting to lose key states like FL, OH, etc. He is now behind in VA. Fortunately, there is still some time left.

Of course BHO is not in DC, so he won’t vote and can tell people how he would have voted and then change it and there is NO record of him taking a position. McCain will vote against what 70% of americans want. Arrghhh.

I wish McCain would come out against the bill and fight back against this Demorat robbery! If he did, he would surely win in November. When 80% of the American voters are against this present legislation, one would think he and other Republicans would realize that there are VERY MANY Democrat voters in that 80%! McCain should talk to a Mr. Isachs(?) from FDIC and realize there are much better ways to get us out of this mess that won’t cost the taxpayer anything......plus it will work. The present plan will not work in the long run.

If the Republicans and McCain vote NO on this present bill and state reasons for working on a better plan, they WILL WIN in November.

If the Republicans and McCAin just let the Democrats pass this present bill by themselves McCain WILL WIN in November.

But if the Republicans and McCain sign on to the present bill they will be blamed for causing the mess, for the present bill not working and the Democrats and MSM will say it is the Republican’s fault it didn’t work because their first proposal that Obama wanted would have saved the country. Then say hello to President Obama!
