... During the debate, the two candidates provided clear differences of opinion on the issues. Carter's answers resorted to more government programs and aid. Reagan, on the other hand, stayed on his recurring message of freeing the taxpayers and limiting government intervention ...

putting the country first
Obama is not who he says he is. He is untrustworthy.
oh, you implied one huh ?
The skinny punk is a cornucopia of bullshit . . .
yes, we can!
Yes, that is the necessary negative/contrast ... what is the positive/rationale reason to vote FOR McCain?
He and Sarah are the only grownups in the race ?
*crickets chirping*
Palin should go out and blame the economy on Congress, the bailout, on insiders (Biden, Obama and McCain) and the creep of socialism. McCain should say she’s right, she’s the advocate of the people- and that’s why I picked her, and that’s why she sits with me in the white House.
Ayers is good enough. Obama’s only executive experience is being the employee of a guy who bombed the Capital and the Pentagon.
Oil = Jobs
Coal = Jobs
Refineries = Jobs
You don’t try to have auto manufacturing plants in American towns to get cars cheaper or so Saudi Arabia can’t cut off our supply of cars. You do for jobs. Stop shipping those high-paying energy jobs overseas.
As long as anyone in China is using a petroleum product we should be the ones selling it to them.
I watched the 1980 Debate and for some reason do not remember Gov. Reagan promising to spend 300 Billion to buy out people who made poor real estate investment decisions.
OK then, I’ll ask it this way: what would REAGAN do/say? (read link)
Obama is an unqualified fraud who has been propped up by a biased media. Obama is unfit to be commander in chief and has no business tinkering with our economy.
This should be an interesting thread!
I’d say:
“I promise the American People two very important things:
#1 - I promise to secure our national security interests, including energy security, and do what needs to be done to keep us safe, at home and around the world
#2 - I promise to take swift action to restore stability to our economy, and to use all the power of my office as President to understand how this happened, seek punishment for those who are responsible, and take steps to make sure this never happens again.
Do these two things quickly and correctly, and there will be plenty of time to do everything else!
to heck with that. To a lot of people putting the country first means Hussein.
hit them on the lying untrustworthienss of the man.
Can’t hurt.
Reagan certainly wouldn’t have advocated a $300B buy-all-the-bad-mortgages-and-screw-the-people-who-did-the-right-thing plan.
The Democrats got us into this financial mess, why trust them to get us out of it?
Man up, McCain. Step down and let Palin take the ticket in for the win. Country First.
Why is no one stressing THIS point? I head Dick Morris say that he wasn’t paying attention to the Ayers issue UNTIl that became apparent. What a great ad? What a great line for the next debate? “Senator Obama, please explain why your only executive experience is being an employee of a guy who bombed the Capital and the Pentagon?”
