newsmax ^ | 10/10/08 | Newsmax

Posted on 10/10/2008 1:09:25 PM PDT by jessduntno

Senator Elizabeth Dole, a member of the Senate Banking Committee, tells Newsmax TV she and other Republicans tried to move legislation five years ago to rein in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac but Democrats blocked their efforts and it "infuriates" her to think about how that could have prevented what eventually happened.

It’s for the POWER. It’s for Socialism.

And McCain and other pro-socialist bailout Republicans are no better. If anything they are worse because they have promoted socialism faster than LBJ even while pretending they are for the free markets. Never forget that the pro-bailout bill was submitted first by a Republican president and then finally pushed through by the man who wants to be his Republican successor.

Where are the speeches she made on the subject. We’d all like to read them.

(When are McCain, Obama, and Biden going to resign from the Senate like Bob Dole did?)

If they really foresaw these problems, they should have been saying it again and again and again and again ad infinitim

I read they tried 13 different times.

Yes, they have the media in their pockets, while the Republicans don't. But that's no excuse. They shouldn't hold one news conference and forget about it.

It's taken over 2 years for the media to examine Barack/Ayers/Acorn, and only now because of issue ads are they beginning to report on it, and somehow I doubt they will give it anything but Obama spin.

Get on, Sunday morning, Sister Liz!

James Simpson, a former White House economist, has just published "Barack Obama & the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis" - on AmericanThinker.com at http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/09/barack_obama_and_the_strategy.html

Further documentation connecting the dots of all the neo-Marxists who have invested in the development of Barack Obama may be found on discoverthenetworks.org

Simpson documents his research in his article, providing Web links. He provides a rough flow chart.

"CHANGE"

Let's change things for these obsessed anti-Americans. Give everyone in America a new vocabulary term: The Cloward-Piven Strategy.

Senator Elizabeth Dole, says it "infuriates" her to think about how that could have prevented what eventually happened."

We're all hearing experts(and Obama) saying it is because of a lack of regulation. The Washington Post prints it. If you're mad and could have done something, GET YOUR message out there. Guess what, it will probably get worse if you don't get the message out.

Every Republican Senator and Representative need to go to their LOCAL news outlets. TV stations and newspapers and give interviews supported by the facts. They need to play the footage of Maxine Waters praising Franklin Raines. Forego the National news they will get nowhere. This is the game plan Republicans should have been doing months ago when it became apparent that the National News/MSM was so in the tank for Obama.

This is what happens when Republicans “go along to get along” and forget the reason they were elected to go to Washington. They’ll get blamed anyway and the Lamestream media will hate them, so why not just do the right thing to start with?

It’s the Dems’ fault but much of the public is blaming the Republicans. I’ll have to include this in my letter to the editor. Too many U.S.A. citizens just don’t seem to understand what happened.

I was addressing the Party at the core of the problem, but perhaps should have addressed the perpetrators as “Socialist/Democrat/RINO’s rather than simply “Socialist/Democrats”.

That leads to another discussion however. Hopefully amongst the tasks we dedicate ourselves today will include addressing reform of the Republican Party currently under siege by Socialist idealists injecting themselves into that Party as they successfully did the Democrat Party over time, and return the Republican Party to what it was in days of yore. Basically a Party of Conservative values.

A discussion for a pertinent thread.

That’s not true — you conveniently forget we had the likes of Warner, Specter, Voinivich and other very moderate to liberal Senators who blocked a lot of what Dole, Inhofe, Nichols, etc. wanted to get done. You do remember Trent Lott don’t you? Spineless.

Don’t go blaming the conservative Republicans when they kept shouting about the problem led by McCain, Don Nichols, Jim Inhofe, Liddy Dole and others. Blame the John Warners of the GOP along with the liberal Dems.

This is the NUMBER ONE ISSUE... the BOMBSHELL that could destroy democrats in this election. WHY... is McCain still pushing ACORN and AYERS when he could close the deal with this fannie mae business??

True... ACORN and AYERS damage Obama... but FANNIE MAE DESTROYS THEM ALL. Democrats have been caught RED HANDED with their HANDS IN THE COOKIE JAR and we're not pushing that 24/7??
