ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A month after she became governor, Sarah Palin's staff ushered Alaska's public safety commissioner into her private office. But Palin wasn't there. Her husband, Todd, had called the meeting. He was frustrated that his former brother-in-law remained on the job as a state trooper, and he prevailed upon the commissioner to get rid of him.

First, who wouldn't want a husband that would protect their family like Todd did?
But more interesting, imagine if
timing = 1993 - 2000
spouse = wife (instead of husband)
governor = president
governor's office = oval office
issue = pick one! (Monica, Kathleen Willey, Billy Ray Dale, FBI files, . . .)
Would there even be a story?

I would expect Todd or any husband or brother or son to step in for his loved ones...especially when the one who has a vendetta against you carries a gun...

So when a spouse of a government official tries to get rid of someone who threatened to kill their partners father...thats a bad thing?

well Sarah can't just say anything because she still faces the personal board etc....
but I would suggest that Todd open up and express his anquish at the situation and that he could not sit idly by while his wife's family was threatened...
RAGE ON TODD PALIN!

You are right, change the characters and it becomes a yawner for the drive by media. The drive by media needs to die off...
Todd — Probably didn’t like a gun carrying loon threatening his wife’s parent. What so strange about that?

I just saw a headline on Yahoo about "Palin defiant after probe
jolts McCain camp."
As if this news caught them off guard. Everyone on God's green Earth knew this hack job, which was originally scheduled for 31 Oct, was coming out before the election. And the McCain camp had a statement out within hours.
I absolutely despise the dishonest, hypocritical scumbags in the media that attempt to portray themselves as objective.

I have seen a few reports with locals closer to the story and I get the impression the folks in Alaska don't really care about this and are supporting the Governor. they have been with it for years so I will trust their judgment.

Wasn't there something a long, long time ago like
travelgate or something like that. Spouse of an elected official etc., etc.
Naw, must be my imagination.

"Gee! This is so much more important than Obamas cocaine use, Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, etc, etc, etc..."It is! Don't you get it? Obama never abused power, he abused drugs. Bill Ayers never abused power, he abused explosives. Rev. Wright never abused power, he abused the pulpit.
There is a huge difference there. This is like a breach of homeland security. Perhaps, if they send Todd to Gitmo as a terrorist, then maybe a judge will release him on the streets of Washington, D.C.

Don’t try to figure it out. Liberal “logic” boggles the mind.

Yes, and has threatened your family members, and said that he has a bullet with your wife’s father’s name on it.

What do we expect? When this ethics probe is embedded with Obama operatives, corrupt politicians and DemonRATs with an ax to grind, it is no surprise that they would attack Governor Palin’s husband. With the mentality working in this moose stew gone bad, it is a wonder that they did not hit Big Foot for posing as a rubber gorilla in a block of ice!

I'd like to imagine a world where both Bill Clinton and Sarah Palin would get justice. I'm quite comfortable with that.
Sarah would be working out of the White House, and Bill would be shoveling under an out house.
Sarah's actions were legal. Bill's were not.

This “Taser-gate” attempted smear by Obama’s supporters and other Demwits in Alaska and in the partisan media has already backfired, and seriously.

it is no surprise that they would attack Governor Palins husband. It's grasping at straws, and it will backfire. He is not a public official and he has no power to abuse.

This just makes me like the Palin family better. Todd’s big “ethics violation” was that we loved his wife and wanted to protect her.
