Actress has had fun with impersonation on SNL, but can't do four years
Tina Fey is generating big laughs and big audiences for Saturday Night Live with her impersonation of Gov. Sarah Palin, but the actress hopes it doesn't last.
We're gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I'm done, Fey tells TV Guide in the Oct. 20 issue. I can't do that for four years. And by I'm done, I mean I'm leaving Earth.
The 30 Rock star also said the election season and playing Sen. John McCain's running mate has been a fun and busy time.
Election time is always good for ('SNL,') and this is a bonkers election, Fey said. And that lady is a media star. She is a fascinating person. She's very likable. She's fun to play, and the two bits with Amy (Poehler) that was super fun.

I’ll donate the Scotch
If Tina Fey leaves earth and heads for another planet, she will increase the IQ level of both planets.
I know some rednecks (or is that necks of color?)who would gladly strap her to a homemade rocket and light the fuze.
Hey Tina, Why wait, get a head start! Leave now.
Going to the planet Mung, I hear.
OH PLEASE, PLEASE leave the earth, Tina Fey! I may be in the minority, but I have not been able to tolerate looking at or listening to that woman since she came on the scene — well before anything political was ever involved. Can’t explain it, I just don’t like that person at all — a gut reaction, I guess.
Kind of like the little voice that told me back in 2004 during the Dem’s convention that Obama (a speaker) would be a really horrifying force to be reckoned with in short order. Well, I was correct — not that I am happy about it.
The Palin is dumber than me joke is getting pretty stale already.
Pray for W, Gov Palin and Our Troops
Promise?
Tina Fey = two bit comedian.
She couldn’t hold a candle to Sarah’s professional and personal accomplishments. Everything NBC has been off in my household for over a month now.
Cool, does that mean that absolutely STUPID show 30 Rock would end?
Isn’t that the truth? They are too stupid to realize we are watching a character they “pretend to be” on a tv show, or in a movie - We don’t give a damn what they spout about politics, or marriage, or raising children.
ROFL now that should be the post of the thread!
Go! Go now! I’d never even heard of “Tina Fey” until Palin became the candidate, so Tina should actually be out there thanking Palin for the publicity.
Even before fObama she always managed to get her liberal digs in on the SNL news hour. I dis like her too. She is a typical arrogant liberal.
Doesn’t she realize that her act is only a parody? Sheesh.
Guess that proves - all the Hollywood liberals lie...they never keep their promises, just like the Dem politicians!
Truthfully, however, who cares what they do or where they go...they just think they are so important that America will be crushed if they leave us! How egotistical that crowd is, and how needy for some PR!
C’mon, Tina, don’t tease me.
You know, too many of you guys are not reading this right. She means she can’t handle the thought that she’d be having to play the Sarah Palin part for the next four to eight years or longer. She likes the character but not so much that she wants to play the part ad infinitum. She’s not making a typical leave the country remark here, although she indeed is a lib. She is making a statement about the part she would be playing a lot longer than she would want to if McCain/Palin win. See complimentary remarks she makes also about Palin and the part. You guys are just too eager here to jump on this comment by Fey, and in doing so, I sincerely believe you are misinterpreting what she is saying bigtime.
