Spokesman suggests Obama better get his facts straight
A Wednesday night presidential debate claim by Barack Obama has stirred up car dealers in Oklahoma City who dispute his claim that car dealerships are closing everywhere and people cannot get car loans.
"I was surprised to hear it," admitted Peter Hodges, Executive Director of the Oklahoma City Metro Auto Dealers Association. "The facts of the matter are, about 500 dealerships out of 20,000 could close this year because of economic conditions."
But what angered Hodges was Obama's claim that car loans are not available. "That's completely untrue," professed Hodges. "And I did not expect to hear that out of a presidential candidate." Hodges said the Obama misstatement now makes an uphill battle even bigger. "This is a nationwide myth that people cannot get car loans."
Hodges said the myth is going throughout Oklahoma City, the state and the country. "We're not the only auto dealer association in the country having to get the truth out."
What a lying sack of trash!
Locally, car dealers are advertising the fact that they have “$$$ available for loans, despite what the media is saying”.
Banks are saying the same thing....most don’t even want the “bailout” that President Bush is forcing on them.
I just received two offers for new car loans this week in the mail from two local dealerships.
I guess its Obama that can’t get a car loan. hehe
I remember prior to the 2000 election when ‘they’ (the Dims and the media) accused Bush of trying to bring on a recession by ‘talking about it’...
Wow, imagine that....BHO LYING. Huh.
And regular Americans proving him to be a liar. Son of a gun.
First Joe the Plumber and now Joe the Auto Dealer.....gggoooooo Joes!
GMAC is requiring credit scores in the 700’s.

My son just bought a new Chevy pickup.....credit score no where near 700.....got the rebates, low financing, etc. Another MSM spin?
I heard a major car dealer here in the Chicago area on the radio this past weekend say that they have plenty of banks offering them their loans.
...interesting I don’t hear the media cautioning the same now. I think ‘the sky is falling’ crap they’re spouting is to create the panic to allow a big govt take over...just a thought
Simple, if you have good credit, they are ready to lend.
Not surprising considering the financial condition that GM is in. But keep in mind, you can buy a GM car without using GMAC. There are lots of other lenders out there.
True.
I just got 2 loans....woe is me lol
I’ve seen TONS of dealer tags all dated for a purchase from mid September....yet media portraying soup lines.
Media LIES and are encouraging socialism.
