It might seem like a non-issue. With the stock market way off its 2007 record highs and banking institutions failing in the midst of a presidential election, global warming alarmists have toned down their pleas for economy-killing greenhouse gas emission regulations.
But ABCs World News with Charles Gibson is attempting to keep the issue in focus. Gibsons Oct. 16 broadcast raised new concerns about climate change.
New concerns today about climate change, Gibson said. In its annual arctic report card, the government says the ice in Greenland is melting at a record pace. Twenty-four cubic miles of ice disappeared in 2007.

It was gone for awhile...sort of like “Whatever Happened to John Edwards”?
From later on in the article:
In January 2008, Greenlanders were noting the increase in ice in some regions, according to a Jan. 16 article in The Copenhagen (Dk.) Post.
On Disko Bay in western Greenland, where a number of prominent world leaders have visited in recent years to get a first-hand impression of climate change, temperatures have dropped so drastically that the water has frozen over for the first time in a decade, the article said.
The ice is up to 50cm thick, Henrik Matthiesen, an employee at Denmarks Meteorological Institute, said to the Post. Weve had loads of northerly winds since Christmas which has made the area miserably cold.

Charlie needs to use more current data.....
If this elite news nerd would read this years paper he'd find that the ice is once again INCREASING. These people are hopeless idiots.
I don’t recall any talking heads having degrees in climatology, and most probably haven’t taken a course in physics or chemistry or mathematics.
The volume of the Greenand ice cap is 630,000 cubic miles. At 24 cubic miles per year, it will take over 25,000 years to all melt.
Not something I’m going to worry about since the odds are we will enter another ice age long before then.
Don’t worry. After the elections the planet will suddenly get a lot hotter.
This is what I immediately thought when Charlie said 24CM as if that were an alarming number.
As a percentage, it is a 0.0038% loss.
These guys have no perspective or common sense.
