PARK RIDGE, Ill., Oct 17, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- A new survey by management consulting firm George S. May International shows 62 percent of small business owners said they would cross party lines this year to vote for the U.S. presidential candidate that they feel will do the most to help their business.

A poll of 850 small business owners across the United States found that nearly half said they feel their business is in jeopardy with 56 percent saying the current credit crunch has adversely impacted their business:

-- 23 percent cited late-paying customers and vendors -- 14 percent said their lines of credit were being pulled -- 9 percent said they were having difficulty making payroll -- 23 percent said all of the above -- 31 percent cited other ways, which were not specified

The poll also showed that 59 percent of small business owners surveyed feel the federal bailout of $700 billion will not help their business, while 41 percent said they feel it would.

"The results of the survey show that the presidential candidates must connect with the needs of small businesses that together employ the majority of people in America," said Israel Kushnir, president of George S. May International. "Small business owners are concerned about jobs, having access to credit lines to keep their operations going, healthcare costs for their employees, and taxes.

New Ohio Survey Shows More Than 54% of 'Main Street' Business Owners Will Vote McCain/Palin was posted 10 days ago, October 07, 2008 story posted by FR Bobkk47

Uptick helped because of spotlight on Joe -54% to 62%?

Obama's attacks on Joe? is an attack on the American Dream? Why would Goliath want to bully, discredit, humiliate and incite hatred on little Joe? Joe didn't seek out Obama, Obama placed the spotlight on Joe. Joe was just planning a dream and doing his due diligence. Fair question?

By the way, Gov. Palin while visiting Bangor, ME on Thursday added Jane to Joe, covering all those building their American dream.

Joe will appear on Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s talk show, Saturday night. According to FOX, “Wurzelbacher will be giving his first in-studio interview since he burst on the national political landscape after questioning Barack Obama’s tax policies during a rally in Ohio, where Wurzelbacher "works" for a plumbing company.”

Was just thinking.....If the Obama's are suddenly faced with making that dreaded 3 a.m. phone call to a plumber, will Joe or Jane Plumber analyze the situation, the costs and benefits of taking any action?

Emergency calls to a plumber are far more expensive than good preventative maintenance plumbing. And no American should go without plumbing care.

I’ll tell you what. We have a small business. If Obama’s taxes take hold, we will probably shut down.

Rush had a caller the other day from a small businessman, and he said that he and a number of his friends who own small businesses, already have plans in place to start downsizing if Obozo the Marxist Clown is elected.

The economy will go into an accelerated tailspin just on the prospect of his presidency, even before he even takes office, if the fruitcake wins the election.

You are not alone. Most small businesses run month to month, they aren’t huge operations. I mean think abou tit, a Dentist is a small business.... a florist is a small business, this will impact both, and both will have a hard time making ends meet, forcing the florist out of business just as much as the dentist, and that is good for NO ONE.

But do Socialists see it that way? Noooooooooooooo they are still under the impression that the dentist is a millionare and that the florist can just find another job.

I don't have a small business, rather I work for a BIG one. Trouble is, I am likely to be worried about my job. What's more bambi’s tax hikes would have my wife and I house poor. (We live in very modest house in a very modest price range) So, things would have to go. I try to support small business as much as I can, but money is money and I either have it or I don't.

I have no idea who you are, but I pray that your business will survive and bambi is beaten and beaten good.

No Bama and No Tax increases.

Downsizing will not help, that 250k threshold will come down to 100k before he is sworn in.

First, line up the employees and ask "Who here voted for Obama"

Tell the ones that raise their hands, "You wanted change.....now you got it." "Take yer shit and get the hell outta my store!"

Hugh Hewitt was taking call from small business owners the other day. They were all saying the same thing.

God help us — it won’t be pretty. Unemployment is going to skyrocket as folks get laid off, ironically, a number of whom who will have voted for the socialist train wreck. They voted for him thinking they would get something free — they will — a pink slip.

Well the only good news is that the tax forms under Obama will be simpler:

List your income _______

Send it in.

In a TV interview years ago, Anne Murray, the singer, was asked how it felt to be a "star." Her response was:

"Stars ride around in limosines and aren't important. When people have a problem, they don't call "stars."

Plumbers ARE important."

This is already happening to the stock market.

0bama's polling numbers go up, market tanks.

McCain's polling numbers go up, market has a rally.

If Obama wins business owners should lay off the liberals first! Let them see the error of their ways.
