PARK RIDGE, Ill., Oct 17, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- A new survey by management consulting firm George S. May International shows 62 percent of small business owners said they would cross party lines this year to vote for the U.S. presidential candidate that they feel will do the most to help their business.

A poll of 850 small business owners across the United States found that nearly half said they feel their business is in jeopardy with 56 percent saying the current credit crunch has adversely impacted their business:

-- 23 percent cited late-paying customers and vendors -- 14 percent said their lines of credit were being pulled -- 9 percent said they were having difficulty making payroll -- 23 percent said all of the above -- 31 percent cited other ways, which were not specified

The poll also showed that 59 percent of small business owners surveyed feel the federal bailout of $700 billion will not help their business, while 41 percent said they feel it would.

"The results of the survey show that the presidential candidates must connect with the needs of small businesses that together employ the majority of people in America," said Israel Kushnir, president of George S. May International. "Small business owners are concerned about jobs, having access to credit lines to keep their operations going, healthcare costs for their employees, and taxes.

Plumbing care is a basic human right. Everyone should have taxpayer funded access to it.

Too funny, I own a monthly publication and all of us work out of our homes. I noted the graphic designer has an Obama sign in her front yard, maybe she should be first to go...

Or as one put it to me...they are greedy. Yep...honest to God that is what she called my boss. Greedy.

I think it is high time we, meaning conservatives, start unredefining these elite morals. We can start with revisiting Greed and Jealousy.

We started plans on moving our petroleum business offshore in June 2007. The move will be completed by the end of this month. The recruiting business will remain in the US, however switching from W-2 to 1099's will save us a bundle.

It's simply too expensive to maintain a business in the USA with or without Hussein.

Why wouldn’t they belong to the party they think is going to help their business in the first place?

How many businesses will or have failed because the owner just didn't know how to run a business (plan) in the first place, easier to just blame Bush, etc.

Example: Was a guy who called into Dave Ramsey the other day, had run a business for 3 years and was just under a million in debt....had ceased operations. Said he could make 85K year working same profession for someone else!.........okkkkkkkkkkk

I’m not really surprised at what you tell me you have had to do with your business. I think the bleeding of busineeses like yours out of the country due to high taxes (second highest corporate tax rate in the world) is steady, ongoing, and will obviously accelerate if the Marxist squirrel is elected.

If I might ask, are you in the drilling business, or the oil services business? Just curious.

Lost in the backround noise and clutter is Nancy Pelosi. She will make the laws and Barack will sign them He will be lame duck from day one because Nancy will usurp his power.

Don't worry about the powerless president. Worry about the all powerful Prime Minister.

I work for a fairly large company and even we are asked to think in terms of our company’s future and our jobs. It was said to us very clearly by our executives, some very liberal, that Obama will tax the Hell out of them company such that at least a layoff is likely.

My husband and I work for a very large company. We received an e mail from the President of our company also specifically mentioning taxes as his concern.
It is obvious to me what will happen in our company of 0 wins.
And more than half (I work in PA) of the folks I work with are 0 folks.
Yet there is some hope. One lady approached me today in our cafeteria and asked me who I was voting for.
I told her McCain, but said so very softly. (We aren’t allowed to talk about politics at work, against company policy.)
She also answered softly that she was voting for McCain.
I was surprised and asked her why? (She’s a democrat.)
She said 0 scares the **** out of her!
Scares the **** out of me too!!

It’s not W’s legacy. The economy didn’t tank until after the Democrats took over congress. Blame them and blame the Democrats that are/were in charge of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.

Besides, you should know better than to spout that kind of ignorance in this forum.

What’s the incentive to build a business and work hard if the reward is having your earnings taken away?

I believe that Obama knows this will collapse our small businesses and economy. I think he and whoever is behind him pulling the strings, have this as their goal.

Obama and his communist/marxist buddies want to CHANGE America. All you have to do is promise the sheeple lots of goodies for free.
