CHARLEROI, Pa. -- U.S. Rep. John Murtha is calling many of the people who put him in office "rednecks."
The news comes one week after Murtha claimed the area is racist, then apologized for that comment.
In explaining his comments about racism, Murtha told WTAE it's difficult for many in the area to change. Murtha said that just five to 10 years ago the entire area was "redneck."

I guess one thing we will find out on election day is if you can insult many groups of people and still win. The Obamites have insulted nearly everyone by now- except the elite folks like themselves. Let’s see, they insult:
People who live in small towns.
People who own guns.
People who “cling” to their bible.
People who are rednecks.
People who voted for Hillery.
Plumbers.
Most successful business people.
Most ordinary people.
We already knew they don’t like the military, and they think anyone who is considering not voting for Obama for any reason a racist.
That covers a whole lot of voters...we’ll see how it works out for them.
Murtha is an embarrasment to the Military in general and the Marine Corps in particular.
Go away, Murtha, and live with your Code Pinko friends.
What a Piece of Sh*t...
So true. They are - well, well indoctrinated. And the 'old folks' won't even take offense at this description. I'm not so naive to suggest there aren't any racists there or anywhere, but if there are, Murtha is asking them to vote Obama anyway, 'prove' they aren't. And these same folks will push the button by Murtha's name, next time he's on the ballot. Have you seen the news from the area? It can't seriously be called 'news' but is one giant party editorial. It's unwatchable, but it passes for news in my area (north) even though we aren't constituents and I know local die hard dems who take every slanted word as 'God's own truth' (to quote one guy). Even the 'racist' comments. They carry every last drop for him, sometimes right to the lines outside the jobservice office.

This guy must think he is bullet proof for re-election.
I'm not a redneck, but my neighbor is a high-tech redneck and we love him to pieces. He is going to go ballistic when he hears this.
And McCain’s also got an event in Bensalem (sp?), to make three PA events in one day.
More likely voter fraud. Here in Delaware we can't seem to get rid of the incumbents no matter how often we vote against them. The country gets outvoted by the city.
I was thinking he was hanging out with Ted too much and caught his.
People in PA will no more retire Murtha than their commonwealth companions in MA would delete the super popular B. Frank.
There is no doubt in my mind you were saying the same thing about Georgia and Roy Barnes in 2002.
I only posted once- I guess the gremlins got to it. Sorry.
Russell will win.
Have faith. Try saying a prayer. It works.
And as for Lollypop Barney Fwank - he has his OWN brand of Pork to pack...
Oh, ouch! But, there is a certain kind of mentality there, and ‘hero worship’ by their constituents. I just thought it was a dem thing. I think after the last election more than ever, Rendell and Murtha wanted to ‘deliver’ votes for their party. They want to run with the big dogs. Lucky for us. (eyeroll)
I’m Lovin’ it! LOL
Phil, I think he was just trying to cover his base. Racist/Redneck. Yep, that covers it.
Oh, wait. That leaves room for one moron. (He’s got that covered, as well.)
