What would America look like after four years of an Obama administration?
"Hardship," "persecution" and "suffering" are among the prospects in a hypothetical letter from a "Christian from 2012" released today by evangelical leader James Dobson's political activist group Focus on the Family Action.
Titled "Letter from 2012 in Obamas America," the piece clearly targets the many evangelical Christians seeking "change," particularly the young, who could tip the election in favor of the Illinois Democrat . At the end of the letter, the fictional Christian laments that these people "simply did not realize Obama's far-left agenda would take away many of our freedoms as a nation, perhaps permanently," pointing to a new, liberal-majority Supreme Court unlikely to change for 30 more years.
"I get tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat," says the fictional writer. "Now in October of 2012, after seeing what has happened in the last four years," America is no longer "the land of the free and the home of the brave."
"Many of our freedoms have been taken away by a liberal Supreme Court and a majority of Democrats in both the House and the Senate, and hardly any brave citizen dares to resist the new government policies any more," the letter writer says.

Not allowing teachers to profess faith or beliefs, removal of 10 commandments monuments, removal of crosses from public places, disallowing students from reading the Bible during free reading time, suspending kids for praying before lunch.
You have to be WILLFULLY ignorant to not recognize the anti-Christian movement in America. The ACLU is at the forefront.
“80% of the US Population is Christian” and the sun came up today - what do either one have to do with the reality of religious persecution?
All the seeds of a conflict that would be planted and the harvest a bloody second civil war.
It is great Dobson is finally waking up. Hopefully it isn’t too little or too late.
Christians are viewd as freaks by a lot of pagans and devil worshipers in the US
And people are allowed to put forth other religious (Non-Christian) beliefs in school/public places?
No, of course they’re not.
If you want to see “persecution against Christians” try Red China, Burma, Israel/Palestine, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Congo, Syria, well you get the point.
More like 20% the rest have no affiliation
Do you think the following Biden Presidency would be any better?
I guess you missed all the hubbub about Islam being taught in public schools.
Does Google work for you, or is it broken?
So “pagans and devil worshipers” viewing Christians as ‘freaks’ is persecution?
How many pagans and devil worshipers are out there?
Examples?
In America I suspect somebody who declared themself to be a pagan or devil worshiper (have not met either) would be considered the freak.
And I think you know that to be the case as well.
No ... hopefully he will get lost in the shuffle.
Christian persecution will happen. It may not get into full swing under Obama but, then again, it could. It won’t be couched in terms of open hostility to Christians but will instead come in the form of “hate crime” laws and civil rights laws. The mechanism is simple: declare certain behaviors that have been condemned consistently by the Christian sects to now be “rights”. These “rights” will trump any and all rights actually stated in our Constitution (an outdated document created by Eurocentric white men many of whom were slave owners). The resulting “hate crime” and civil rights laws will be used to force Christian churches to uphold the new “rights” and fines and jail time will result for any who openly oppose these. Any individual who dares speak out against the new “rights” will have the coercive power of the state exercised against him to muzzle the dissent.
This is already happening in Europe and Canada and there have been a couple of cases in the U.S. (the photographer in Arizona who declined a job to photograph a homosexual “wedding” comes immediately to mind). Also I have read that in Massachusets the new “right” of homosexual marriage is being used to club Christians into submission to the complete “normalization” of homosexuality including the coercion of churches in providing wedding ceremonies to homosexuals and allowing the adoption of children by homosexual couples (which has resulted in many Church adoption services shutting down in the state).
Things are happening pretty quickly these days. The effort to “tame” the Christian sects may pick up a lot of steam in a short amount of time.
The "change" we are going to get is not what 75% of the country envisions. Once we turn over the entire government to the extremist RATs, however, there will be no going back.
We have never had a nominee as radical as this one, and the world is a far more dangerous place than ever before. I pray for our country's survival.
“Oh right, the myth of Christian persecution in the United States...”
With all due respect, what do you think the ultimate goal of the PC movement is? Teachers in this nation are NOT ALOUD to teach intelligent design even as a theory!
Our founding documents are laced with references to God and Divine guidance, and yet since the MYTH of Separation of Church and State entered our culture (not law, it’s not there), the ACLU attacks anyone who dares mention these things in a teaching setting. Don’t tell me it’s a MYTH.
Agree 100%.
While the MSM, Hollywood, and most liberals detest Christianity, at this point, we are free to practice our religion as we see fit.
The handwriting is on the wall though. The persecution is coming.
Let the liberals gain one net seat on the Supreme Court, and freedom of religion as it is currently understood becomes a relic of the past.
Fortunately, the Republicans would have a chance to take back Congress in 2010 and by 2012 the White House.
So Islam is taught in a history class, therefore a teacher should be able to talk about their religious beliefs.
I really don’t think you would like that.
An example.
Would you like a Calvinist trying to convert your child?
What about a Catholic? Jehovahs’ Witness? Southern Baptist? Methodist? Mormon? Presbyterian? Lutheran? Jewish? Eastern Orthodox? Greek Orthodox? Pentecostal? A.M.E.? Black Muslim? Maronite? Unitarian? How about the Moonies, do you want them ‘educating’ your children.
I’m sure one (if not most) of these religions are objectionable in some way to your religious principles...
So what brand of Christianity would be acceptable to you?
This is what we're up against.
Good work outta you truthandlife.

There are people who are surrounded by bigots
and know it is wrong, but are afraid to be vocal against it.
These people are going to pull the lever for Obama
and they are not being polled.
angee_is_mad, DUmmy
not too far fetched, except for the removal from office part. Instead, martial law will probably be imposed upon the citizenry.
