Has Obama lowered his tax cut plan to those who make up to $200,000 instead of $250,000?

I just saw a commercial here in Colorado where Obama said that those who make $200,000 or less would get a tax cut.

This is bogus. There is much more involved.

The Democrats are going to allow the Bush tax cuts to lapse by not voting on its continuation.

So, if you are earning $14,000 per year your taxes will go from $0 to $1100 annually. And so on, right up the pay scale. People earning in the $35,000 range will see their taxes double. Yep, that means a 100% increase! And that is even before Obama gets his tax increases through Congress.

I think that would be “trickle up” tax plan. Prices will trickle up along with inflation and interest rates, as well as energy prices as you pointed out.

As for the lie, I doubt any Freepers expected less. Clinton lied, Gore and Kerry lied, they all do it to get elected. For that matter even McCain stretches what he can really do given it’s congress that appropriates the funds. McCain may push for a capital gains tax but without congressional approval it’s not going to happen.

It’s 200K FOR INDIVIDUALS.

The oft-repeated $250K is for couples.

So naturally, they don’t mention the lower, 200K, number when democrats talk about the Obama tax.

The kids in school now, planning to be lawyers, accountants, and other professionals, could be paying this tax (Along with paying off their student loans) by the time they are 30—if inflation takes off like crazy thanks to all the money being “printed.”

Okay, let's get one thing perfectly clear. And, I'll make it clear by asking some simple questions.

When is the last time that the tax and spend democrats actually cut taxes? When is the last time that the tax and spend democrats actually cut spending? When is the last time that Santa Klaus actually brought anyone any presents? When is the last time that the real tooth fairy actually left anyone a dollar under the mattress or pillow?

Other than going back almost 50 years to Kennedy, taxes have never actually been cut by any democrat except perhaps on the local level.

So then, why are people actually giving any kind of credibility at all to anything that a democrat by the name of Obama says in regards to cutting taxes?

The only reason for Obama and the democrats are proposing "tax cuts" or "spending cuts" is for the votes that those promises might bring them on Nov 4th. Obama's history and the democratic party's history should be enough to convince people that, if it's not in their nature, it ain't gonna happen and therefore, expecting tax cuts or spending cuts is equivalent to believing in Santa Klaus or the tooth-fairy.

Obama and the current leadership in the senate and in the house are big believers in lying to obtain their end results. That's the communist way.

Once elected, they'll activate the same old excuse and lie, the one that Bill Clinton also used, that, "because of unforeseen circumstances or conditions beyond our control", "we cannot follow up on the previously promised tax cuts or spending cuts".

The democrats and their leadership, including the president (when democrat), have always lied about tax cuts and spending cuts. Anybody believing any of their lies are just plain stupid or easily duped or brainless.

You got it - The whole ruse is on the flawed premise that not continuing the GWB tax-cuts isn't a tax hike - So everyone will see their taxes raised under Obama....the MSM (and the RNC) are simply letting him get away with this lie..

It is mind-boggling how the McCain camp never called Obama out on this during any of the debates. Obama will raise everyones taxes by simply allowing the GWB tax-cuts to expire....... Then he will implement his own further tax hikes on select groups (businesses, who will pass them on even further to the public).

I believe the line is no increase for families making less than 250 K and a cut for those under 200 k. I expect it to be more like Clinton who got in office and said things are worse than I thought, we need to increase taxes instead of cut them.
