Mic Left On Incident
On Saturday, November 1st, 2008, Karel was hosting his weekly show on KGO at 9 PM when a sound engineer failed to mute his microphone during the top of the hour national news break. During the news break, a reference to Joe the Plumber came up and Karel was clearly heard to be yelling a number of expletives as well as saying "I want muther fucken Joe the Plumber dead". After the news, Karel apologized for the mistake and explained that it was a private moment that should not have made it on the air.
OMG, stevie. LOL.

I heard the audio clip the above named person unwittingly made. By the time you get this email, it is my fervent hope that someone who uses those expletives and makes death threats ON THE AIR is out looking for a job. He is one of the reasons your station is losing listeners and market share. Bernie Ward was another. Ever since you let Jim Eason go, your station has been on a long slide to oblivion and your choice of talk hosts is the major reason. Even in “Liberal” San Francisco, NO ONE wants to hear all these screeds by “hosts” whose IQs are about their shoe sizes. You are often known as the Call-letter Deficient station. What we continue to see is that you are also the TALENT Deficient station and were it not for some deep pockets of your owners, you would be gone the same way as Air America by now.
I expect soon to see a press release that this person is no longer polluting the airwaves at KGO. Absent that, I will be one more complaint on file with the FCC over this incident. I will ALSO be boycotting everyone who advertises on your station.
