Today was the hardest day of my life (PUMA Democrat votes GOP)
Ex-Hillary Clinton Supporters for John McCain ^ | November 4, 2008 | Ed Hale

Posted on 11/04/2008 1:10:44 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Yes I went and voted today. For the first time in my life, I voted for a straight republican ticket. On the way to the polls I kept asking myself if I could vote for Obama as I have always been a Democrat. Could I be loyal to the Democrat party. When I sat down and looked at that ballot, I realized that I had no choice but to vote for the republicans. After I turned in my ballot and left the polling place, I got sick at my stomach. I realized that I was no longer a Democrat but now a Republican. This goes against everything that I have stood for all my life. Yes today was the saddest day of my life. It was like leaving home for the 1st and last time, I cut the strings that attached me to the Democrat party. I am hoping for a McCain victory, but if it does not happen, then I am content with my decision. God Save America

To all the PUMAs and those like this person,

You worked to save America, and 'what goes around, comes around'.
When the time comes, FRreeRepublic and the Conservative Party
will be your ground multiplier.

I voted straight ticket Republican for the first time in my life four years ago for George Bush and against Kerry and I have never looked back. It was the right and best decision I have made and I will always be grateful to George Bush for sacrificing his legacy and presidency for his country first.

Today, I despise what has become of my old party. That party is truly long gone now and a new thugocracy, NEO-cracy, has taken over.

I think many of us once voted democrat - we were young and voted as children. We expected to be taken care of. And then we grew up. We figured out that we should do for ourselves. We became adults - we became republicans. Those who never grew up, they still need somebody to take care of them, they still need daddy. They vote democrat.

Seems to me a tougher moment for you must have been when you realized Barry was busy cheating Hillary.

Ideally these people would wake up and realize just what scumbags a lot of the Democrats are, whether it's Obama or Hillary. Hell, Bill and Hillary Clinton are the epitome of everything that is wrong with the Democrats. Obama is just a hanger-on who arrived fashionably late to the party.

While he was playing his games in Chicago, Bill and Hillary were playing games in the White House and disgracing the office of the Presidency. I'm still amazed that people will publicly admit they supported somebody like Hillary or Bill Clinton.

This guy realized, thankfully not too late, just what an O-scum-a presidency would bring:

Loss of your 401k plan as those monies would be used to refund the present social security program AND spread the wealth schemes

higher gasoline taxes

reduced oil drilling

reduced natural gas drilling

bankruptcy of the coal industry, which fuels 50% of the electrical power in this country

creation of O-scum-a's Gestapo Police Force

massive cuts in military spending

massive cuts in our nuke weapons

massive reductions in future weapons for our troops

run from Iraq

run for Afghanistan

withdrawal on the war on terror

shut down Club Gitmo and free the terrorists

giving half of Jerusalem to the terrorists as a capital

turning our backs on Israel

budding up with Iran, Chavez, Cuba, Red China, Russia, and North Korea

massive money given to the UN for world wide distribution as the UN sees fit

union thugs unionizing all small business

destruction of the stock market as all the 401k money comes out

adding extra Supreme Court Justices to pack a liberal majority court

loss of the federal court system for two generations with massive liberal judges added

greater abortion on demand

creation of a police state where the federal government controls basically everything in your life

universal health care

massive spending on global warming / enviro wacko crap

causing your electric bills too skyrocket to drive your home temp/cooling temps down to 60 degrees or such and return to Jimmy Carter wearing a sweater, knee socks, and having a blanket over you as you sit down to your peanut butter sandwiches for Thanksgiving Dinner

tearing down hydro dams

PETA gets what they want

come for your guns

come for your ammo

come for YOU when you don't respond as O-scum-a's laws require!!

Your vote folks. This ain't such a small amount to give up to O-scum-a is it????

Don't evennnnnnnnnnn get me started. I'm still bitter. Luckily, I have my guns and religion. :)

Hillary was my first choice. She will probably be my first choice for a long time to come. If it came down to her and Palin, Edwards, Romney, Guiliani, McCain, Obama, etc. I would pick her. But now my options are McCain and Obama (I don't vote third party). I cannot vote for Obama. Therefore, McCain got my vote. I did not vote FOR McCain, I voted AGAINST Obama.

I interviewed a former Hilliary supporter last month and it’s here at U Tube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nXGnUc0vqs

She is a strong Republican now after having her eyes opened to the Democrat party and their vicious hateful nature.

Every time I see Hillary, I think to myself, it should’ve been you. And that’s why, I cast my vote for McCain.

Okay, serious question: Aside from the DNC and 0Bama throwing Hillary under the bus; do you feel that the democrat party is leaving you; no longer representing your core values - going off the deep end?

I mean if you think about it; Harry Truman and JFK could probably be called Republicans these days.

He might be more frightened by the possibility of the *ONE* finding out what he did.

Well, I voted for McCain also. I respect him but not his entire track record. I would have preferred a better conservative candidate but the whole field had warts on them. So, here we are.

Dear Pumas.

First, thank you for your support and hard work. Second, I started life as a Democrat and then spent some time in the wilderness before finding a comfortable home in the GOP. Third, please consider how much of a traceable line there is from JFK to Ronald Reagan to, yes, now Sarah Palin. Patriots all who’ve believed in and have seen the best from their fellow Americans.

I don’t agree with everyone here on everything, but I have found an abiding consistency and stalwartness of values in honesty, hard work, making and keeping solemn commitments, respect for others, humility and charity. Listen across any socio-regional differences you might find, and you will be impressed.

It basically came down to freedom. I’d grown up believing that liberalism and the Democratic party were the great protectors of freedom. But then you look at the political correctness movement and its efforts to stifle free speech, and the univeral healthcare movement and its efforts to destroy free choice and realize that liberalism is much closer to totalitarianism. For me, it’s all about the nanny state.

Wow, straight ticket GOP? A bit of that from the PUMAs and we may not have as heavy of losses in Congress as expected.

I would hope more than one of us would do the same if the shoe was on the other foot. I think we would. Each one of us would never name Hillary as our candidate of choice, but it would be a no-brainer if she was running against a GOP version of Obama.

I think we all should be proud of how we have managed to put political issues aside to work together.

I would hope if nothing else, the PUMAs have said “Mmm, they’re not so bad.” :-) just as we have learned DU is not representative of the majority of dems.

I know how you feel. I’ve been a Conservative for many years and frankly John Mc Cain was not my first choice (or 4th for that matter). I thought he had gone off the reservation too many times. But Obama is truly dangerous so it was hold my nose and vote against Obama, not necessarily for Mc Cain.

Thanks for the vote just the same.

I don't know how to be polite about this, so I'm just going to ask - how can you support somebody as sleazy as Hillary Clinton (and by proxy, her husband)? We joke about the lesbian man-haters supporting Hillary, but you don't seem like that type.

Fair enough. Personally, I can't stand Hillary, and the damage done by the whole Clinton era is still unraveling (9/11 & Bin Laden, the CRA and our current economic woes, etc.). However, this is America and everyone's entitled to their views, and I, like other FReepers, salute you for shaking off party line nonsense and voting for your country instead. One thing that I hope this PUMA episode will instill for the 2010 elections and beyond is a return to just honest disagreement between folks rather than the insanity we've seen in this election.

I, too, was not voting for McCain, either. I was 1) voting against Obama, 2)voting for Sarah Palin,.........................................3) voting for McCain (I guess, if I really have to).
