[President]Bush congratulates [President-elect]Obama on 'awesome night'
Breitbart/AFP ^ | November 5, 2008

US President George W. Bush late Tuesday telephoned his apparent successor, Democrat Barack Obama, to congratulate him on his "awesome night," according to White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. "Mr President-elect, congratulations to you. What an awesome night for you, your family and your supporters. Laura and I called to congratulate you and your good bride," she quoted Bush as telling Obama.

"I promise to make this a smooth transition. You are about to go on one of the great journeys of life. Congratulations and go enjoy yourself," Bush told Obama, she said.

The president also invited Obama and his family "to visit the White House soon, at their convenience," Perino said.

Bush was also to reach out to Obama's defeated rival, Republican John McCain, who conceded the fight shortly after 11:00 pm (0400 GMT).

“the huge spending and the deficits”

You do know who controls the purse strings, don’t you?

I’d like to see Barney and Ms Beazley fed copious amounts of beans January 19th and locked in the Oval office for 24 hours before Bush leaves office.. and all the Os and Bs on the WH keyboards superglued to the ceiling.

love George W. Bush. He has been a great President. I will miss him so much. After January, he can go to the ranch and be shed of the hideous , incessant , evil attacks of the media and Dems.

Maybe ... and maybe not. The Left is screaming for his blood (in some cases literally), and Obama has already promised Justice department investigations into everything he's done. Don't be suprised if he's arrested at some point.

I always HATED when people posted “Bush's fault”, but-—
President Elect Obama is truly—Bush's Fault!
We are in for a rough ride now.

“I see the GOP in the same state as it was in 1976...we have good leadership in Governor’s Palin, Jindal, Pawlenty...let Palin and Jindal become the standard bearers and conservatives will rise again.”

that’s what I see as well. Maybe we’ll have another 12 yrs of conservative presidents after President Obama’s excellent adventure.

if anything, obama should be calling bush to thank him for this ‘awesome’ night. if it werent for bush’s complete incompetence that ruined the republican and conservative brand, liberals would not control both chambers of congress with huge majorities along with the most liberal president in this nations history. thanks president bush! it may take us decades to recover from this. im sorry but im pissed right now. cant say i didnt see this coming. too many people gave bush and the rest of his republican cronies a pass the past 4 years when they lerched too far to the left economically. im sorry but bush let us all down. now we are all going to pay.

After the ineffectual GHW Bush and now the won't-stand-up-and-be-counted GW Bush of the past year, I will NEVER EVER support any Bush family member again.

They take the political capital everyone works so hard to get and fritter it away. GHWB frittered away everything Reagan built up, and then GGWB frittered away both the 1994 Republican Revolution advantage, AND the strong advantage given him by the more recent Republican majority.

Very disappointed in Bush but have to ask: If he’s arrested who will be willing to march on D.C. and stand up for him? Sadly, probably not many.

I’m sick of Bush, McCain and Republicans trying to be “nice” and show “class” to a bunch of cut throat leftists, Marxists and traitors who never show them an ounce of respect back. It’s not tit for tat with the Dhims, they just keep plowing along on their path of destroying freedom, true freedom and America.

Hussein Obama and the Dhims are going to destroy this country and probably the rest of the world and Western civilization in conjunction with the Chinese, the Islamofascists and Muslims, scumbags like Hugo Chavez, Ahmadinejad and all the rest of the petty tyrants and fascist dictators in the world.

Obama will not fight back to save this country. He’s an agent of destruction.

Fox News is sucking up incredibly hard - every one of them - as they know they are first to go under 0.

No.

You will NOT leave the United States. You will stay here and watch things unravel over the next year or two, and we’ll put things back together in ‘10 and ‘12.

Obama is an empty suit, and Pelosi, Reid & Co. are idiots. There’s no way the lovefest will last long. They’ll be tearing each other apart within a year.

I read your posts all the time. You’re one of the more reasonable voices on FR.

This nation has faced crises before, and patriots don’t cut and run. Get some sleep.

Well, I hope Obama comes to my house first. I have a leaky facet and he said he would fix everything....so I’m waiting for the new US Dept. of Facet Fixing to commence.
