Economic war between the states proposed
my brain | November 5, 2008 | hyperconservative

Freepers, do not be so disheartened by yesterday's election results for the Good Lord has allowed this to happen for a reason. This election was not the end of anything; it was just one major battle. And we lost but we must keep fighting in the ways we know best.

I am a capitalist living in a socialist-nanny state called Ohio, aka O-Heil-o by many of the residents. Ohio has been socialist for at least 10 years,IMO.

So, here's my idea: we wage an embargo against the socialist pig states(the Obummer states)or a boycott, if you prefer that term.

You who are living in the capitalist states stop buying goods and services produced in the crappy states and stop hiring young people who recently graduated from these bad states' colleges and universities(because they'll make awful employees anyways).

Freepers living in other countries are asked to also participate in the economic war between the states here.Buy only from the Good States of America and hire only people from these Good States.

The following information will be needed from each and every socialist state IN(but not of) America: Names of all companies headquartered there, names of all companies(small, medium and large)doing business there,(domestic and foreign alike) number of employees, union and non-union alike industry/sector, and products list

It will also be necessary to have a list of replacement goods and services, whether such goods and services are produced in the Good States of America or in good and normal countries around the globe.

I choose to fight because it is in my blood. I welcome your comments. Use Freepmail if you want privacy.

So you’re going to run conservative companies out of business because they’re in the “wrong” state?

Great idea, a$$wipe—screw everybody in one state regardless of who they voted for.

Methinks that sounds like punishing capitalistic people unfortunate enough to inhabit blue states. Why not just boycott socialistic companies themselves, instead of whole states?

Toledo,OH here. We have a 9.9% unemployment and jeep stated 2 weeks ago it was laying off another 850 workers. This city is going to see unemployment of 15% or greater under Bo and I will not lift a finger to help any of them.

Your idea is NUTZ. Everyone in a state, Red or Blue, doesn’t think the same. There are a lot of conservatives in blue states and liberals in red states. Judge each individual or business for what they are, not where they live.

Hey moonhawk, don’t blame him. He’s simply a product of the failed public skooool system there. No real original thoughts or anything.

When does your boycott of the California-based FreeRepublic website begin?

We should also boycott message boards based in socialist states, like that California over there.

I've been suggesting that some states will begin serious discussion about leaving the union and forming a conservative nation. Not Lee and Grant but Gandhi. This election clearly demonstrates that the United States Federal government is broken beyond repair. Every four years we split in half. Anger, frustration, stress, lack of productivity. Its all very damaging. If The Czech Republic can split peacefully and Yugoslavia can split and Bush supports Kosovo, then surely we can reorganize ourselves into a Socialist America and a Free America?

I remember the years that Bob Hope would not entertain at the Ohio State Fair because of Democrat leadership in the state.

I’m not sure why folks are doggin’ your idea. I’m not particularly interested in a boycott. I’m more interested in a full-blown “Two Americas” approach. Let’s just divide the nation into Liberal and Conservative states. We’ll cut it up fair; libs can have Hawaii, we’ll take Alaska. I think the libs can take California (duh!) and Oregon, but we’ll take Washington. Northeast? Definately lib. Southeast, we’ll take that. I’m not sure if the libs would want the Midwest even if it was offered to ‘em, so we’ll gladly take it.

We offer folks the opportunity to swap similar homes, give ‘em a couple years for the transition. We split the military in two. When the libs go to unilaterally disarm, we’ll take those nasty guns and missiles off their hands. When they disarm their citizens, we’ll take their small arms, too.

We can do a free trade agreement with the lib states, sure. Hey, we might even watch a couple of their Hollywood movies if they are good ones (fat chance of that happening). If they want to get food, they can buy it from us. They’ll try to do the “organic” gardening thing, but folks will tire of paying $6 for a carrot.

I think after 20 years, we’d see a mass migration of folks from the impoverished-but-free-healthcare Liberal nation over to our nation where it’s no-frills government but if you earn it, you keep it.

I so wish it was possible to cook up a “sim city” version of this so it could be tried without actually tearing our nation in half...

Give them Rhode Island instead.

“So, here’s my idea: we wage an embargo against the socialist pig states(the Obummer states)or a boycott, if you prefer that term.”

So you want to boycott my county, who gets no representation because we’re stuck in a blue state and still votes 68% republican?

Gee, thanks. Do it county by county and I’m with you.

This is more a rural/urban battle than anything else. Sarah Palin proved that.

Bad idea! Actually we had better buy what we need from all of the US companies now because under Obama business tax plan most companies will close up shop or move off shore. Obama will devastate US businesses.

You who are living in the capitalist states stop buying goods and services produced in the crappy states and stop hiring young people who recently graduated from these bad states' colleges and universities(because they'll make awful employees anyways).

Pass over engineering graduates of Stanford, UC Berkeley, Caltech, UCLA, and UCSD because they went to California schools. Yeah, that'll work.

Here's a better plan - win the war of ideas and the votes will come. Conservatives are right on the economy, foreign policy, terrorism, energy - all proven over time. Conservatives must find effective, charismatic spokespeople like Palin to champion and live up to those principles in all walks of life - in the mainstream media (where conservatism is woefully under-represented), in colleges, in the entertainment industry, on the Internet.

The real problem is that the GOP has become the party of Ted Stevens, Don Young and Denny Hastert - hogs at the trough, interested mostly in their earmarks and covering for each others misdeeds. It needs to be once again the party of ideas and principles that Reagan represented, that produced the Contract With America.

“This election clearly demonstrates that the United States Federal government is broken beyond repair.”

Yes. It’s too big and out of control for anyone to manage properly and efficiently.
