THE WEASEL LIST [of Republicans trashing Palin]
FR Exclusive | 11/6/08 | Antoninus

Posted on 11/06/2008 9:28:08 AM PST by Antoninus

How's that big tent looking for the GOP today, eh?

With the Republican left out in force sliming Sarah Palin today, we desperately need to keep a record of these treacherous, back-biting vipers who are right now trying to destroy the one good thing to emerge for conservatives during this election cycle.

With any luck, this list can serve as an archive of the traitors in our midst who should NEVER get any support from Conservatives again. With these folks in our ranks, the conservative movement will never make any progress.

The purge should begin right now.

Beef up her resume? It’s much more powerful than either on the Dem ticket.

Sharpen her intellect? Read serious books? What books has or hasn’t she read? How do you know? Travel? How shallow. Gimme a break. Go back to the dark side.

"I don't really understand your logic here, unless your quoted "PUMAs" is referring to democrat PUMAs."

Nothing difficult about it. Palin brought votes to (and back to) McCain, including some democrats, that he would not have landed otherwise.

"However I think the loss was due to the number of Rebublicans who were convinced to deny their support (by not voting or voting third party) to McCain prior to announcing his selection of Palin."

That may indeed be true, given the analyses on total turnout by comparison to previous years---but that is McCain's fault, not Palin's.

I certainly agree it was not Palin's fault. Palin was a huge net plus for McCain since the announcement. But, I disagree with the poor turnout being McCain's fault. There were many discussions and those who said they would not vote or vote third party ignored the reality that doing so would throw the election to Obama. The blame is on them.

The time to vote your conscience is in the primaries, not the general election. If you don't have enough votes to win in the primaries, you don't have enough votes to win in the general.

Parliamentarian tactics don't work in a winner take all system. It's kind of like trying to haggle at an auction when someone is out bidding you.

Great link. Here's all you need to know about Steve Schmidt from that link:

Friends and colleagues say Schmidt’s personal style is anything but kamikaze, and he likes to refer to himself as a “raging moderate.”

His only sibling is gay, and he has talked about how he resents the GOP’s hostile attitudes toward gay rights. He urged Schwarzenegger last year to sign the California gay marriage bill, which the governor vetoed.

Schmidt was importuned by several of the Republican aspirants for president earlier this year. (Mitt Romney sent him an antique chair to symbolize a seat at the table.) As a longtime admirer of McCain, he agreed initially to advise him from afar.

Is it any wonder this chump is siccing his minions on Sarah now?

Can we please find ACTUAL CONSERVATIVES to run our political campaigns, please??

What books has or hasn’t she read?

We were never told. We know what Obama was reading from the NYT.

How do you know?

I don't know because nobody to my knoweldge got a chance or chose to ask her about it.

Travel?

Until the campaign, her foreign travel has been limited, one trip outside the US to Kuwait, has probably been to Canada (assumption). She just came across to me as being a lightweight intellectually despite all her other strengths which were many and compelling. I'd like to hear her speak on more topics, and we didn't get enough of a variety. I don't know how much she knows about the world and foreign affairs other than what was scripted and possibly coached. I did not say I was BLAMING her for it. I EXCUSED her for it because GOVERNORS are not normally expected to be involved in foreign policy. But POTUS she needs to exhibit a lot more and have a good command of all the issues.

She has expertise about the energy crisis, intimitely knowledgeable about familiy problems and difficuties, understands needs of people with disabilities, knows how to govern a huge state with relatively small population per square mile and a large budget.

I'm still waiting for PROOF and not an anonymous source that she didn't know the countries in NAFTA and that Africa was a continent and not a country.

Go back to the dark side.

Typical FReeper insult when you have an honest opinion around here that is offered in a constructive spirit.

Really encouraging when I just watched a clip of the view, Hasselbeck makes an heroic stand against Wright, and one of the others says Ayers was CLEARED! Makes me madder than a hornet the lies that are out there and allowed to pass for truth.

I’d always assumed we conservative *knew* that the McCain campaign lurched along in spite of itself. And, I’d always assumed we knew that there were traitors in the midst.

This current amount of trash talk about Palin is really the final straw for me. And, thanks for bringing all this to light.

I want revenge against the people who have defamed the conservative movement with their “moderate method.” They have no place in our midst and they must be sent out on a rail. Enough is enough and I’ve more than had enough of these knobs.

I’m not above wanting to instigate an internet conflagration, where every little detail about every little part of their lives is blown completely out of proportion, published ad nauseum, and used to beat them about the head.

Fact of the matter is, these people ran one of the worst campaigns I have seen. They have failed and in pure self-serving form have abdicated any responsibility and are shoving blame on anyone they can find. What slimey, sleezy pond scum.

Wow, I feel better now. ;O)

Correction. Her campaign didn’t take her out of CONUS in anything I heard or read. She did get to talk to some foreign dignitaries which was good.

““It reinforced the notion that John McCain cared little about people like me,” said former Maine state Rep. Sherry Huber, a Republican who backed McCain in the primary but now supports Obama. “She clearly does not share the values I and other moderate Republicans do.””

In other words, she has a spine and holds her principles dear to her heart...unlike “moderate” republicans who have the spines of linguini and the principles of a dog in heat. It’s not wonder this “republican” did not support Sarah Palin...roaches generally are afraid of the light.

You may have forgotten (or didn’t hear) that Sarah was the governor of Alaska. Also, she has a 80% popularity rating, which, IMO, indicates that she may have been doing a decent job.

id former Maine state Rep. Sherry Huber, a Republican who backed McCain in the primary but now supports Obama. “She clearly does not share the values I and other moderate Republicans do.””

IOW Sarah is not a pro-baby-killing, pro-queer "marriage", anti-Christian, eastern establishment, liberal suck-up snob who wants her elitist party to go back to it's traditional role as the Democrats' butt-boy party that it held for decades before Reynaldo Magnus dragged it bleating and squealing out of the NYC leather-chair-and-old-brandy clubs and into the American conservative mainstream.

Sarah thrilled small government conservatives and evangelical Christians with her fresh faced enthusiasm for the traditionally American good and righteous principles and moral standards that she stood for, and that I believe a majority of Americans still stand for in spite of a half century of scorn, ridicule, and accusations of ignorance and sub-par intelligence that the elitist left has thrown at us.

The population of Alaska is about 670,000. she has a base of 530,000 who thinks she’s doing a good job. By way of comparison, Cleveland and its surrounding areas have a population of more than 2 million.
