Obama Positioned to Quickly Reverse Bush Actions Stem Cell, Climate Rules
The Washington Post ^ | Sunday, November 9, 2008 | By Ceci Connolly and R. Jeffrey Smith

Transition advisers to President-elect Barack Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administration actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone to reverse White House policies on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues, according to congressional Democrats, campaign aides and experts working with the transition team. A team of four dozen advisers, working for months in virtual solitude, set out to identify regulatory and policy changes Obama could implement soon after his inauguration. The team is now consulting with liberal advocacy groups, Capitol Hill staffers and potential agency chiefs to prioritize those they regard as the most onerous or ideologically offensive, said a top transition official who was not permitted to speak on the record about the inner workings of the transition.

Years ago, some agriculturalists were talking about a strike like they have in Europe. Of course that would have to be timed so they don’t plant their fields. I think many are fed up with all the regulations.

Why doesn’t he go do something really important?

I was crying, but also laughing my rear off that while the stock market was crashing Wednesday and Thursday the dims did nothing. It was so important to get that $700B bailout done because the stock market crashed after it failed the first time, but we lose far more value over two days and they just ignore it.

No one there has a clue about anything, and despite what everyone is thinking, there is no real leadership there, at all, Obama or otherwise.

Hang on to your seats folks, we’re in for a real bumpy 4 years.

I remember checking my phone for the close on Friday. My phone only provides CNN (gag) and their headline was about how the Dow gained 250 despite bad unemployment numbers and car maker earnings. Nothing about how even after gaining 250 it was still down 750 since the election.

The democrats and their eunuchs in the media won't do anything except spin things to make you think that the stream of water you feel running down your back is a very isolated cloudburst.

"reproductive rights"

If the idea is to kill their children before they're born, why do they call it "reproductive rights?" If the unborn child is thought of as an unwanted parasite, why do they call the parasite's godless host a "mother?"

I love our great country, and I don't want anyone to suffer.

But it's inevitable. Socialism is a horrendously expensive way to make everyone poor. We are already heavily indebted, and the Kenyan Clown is going to spend money like water. Taxes are going to rise a lot, and the new administration will likely cause at least Carter-level inflation.

Indeed the money line here. I am baffled by the morons who think we are on the verge of seeing his term replicate his campaign rhetoric. That is complete blasphemy. The ignorance of the electorate is about to get what they have ordered, Socialism on steroids. This guy is a maniac and not what they MSM or the masses have portrayed.

Things are going to get alot worse economically in a short period of time. He will say he intends to focus on the economy but, that is smoke and mirrors for the sheeple who support him.

We can insure he is a single termer(shorter would be preferred) by getting out there now and opposing everything he does that is not in keeping with conservative values and beliefs.

Kenyan Clown is quite fitting and works well into my new tagline....

But completely predictable.

Months ago I was still arguing with some “pro-life” posters here on FR who claimed they didn’t care who McCain was running against, they would “never” vote for him.

Some even still hide behind the excuse that “it’s not my fault that the GOP/RNC/MSM/Whatever didn’t give me a nominee I like.”

Every time I see the predictable result of DEATH facilitated by the refusal to vote to defeat Obama by voting for the other guy, my blood boils at such “pro-lifers.”

Pardon me that I’m still angry.

For anyone listening to the predictable Obama message of death, I hope the lesson eventually sticks.

Yes, that's a certainty. I would assume from the Kenyan Clown's remarks in Field & Stream that he will go much further than even President Clinton in declaring our natural resources off-bounds to development:

LICATA: In your career, what is the conservation legislation that you're most proud of?

SENATOR OBAMA: Well, I sat in the Environment and Public Works Committee and had a range of legislation come before me. Probably the thing that I'm most proud of is fighting off some of the efforts to diminish the Clean Air Act. That was a tough set of votes for me because I come from a coal state. But some of the regulations that were put in place I think would have had a long-term effect on our efforts to preserve our public lands, and our private lands, as well. When I was in the state legislature, I was a cosponsor of the Wetlands Protection Act there. I worked extensively in efforts to create smart growth strategies so that you didn't have subdivisions and development constantly spreading out...working with others to try to encourage land trusts and land preservation strategies, I think that's an area that has been very fruitful. But my overarching philosophy is that we have to be good stewards of the land, and we've got to think in terms of sustainability. We're going to have some development. I mean, there's going to be drilling. (Source: Field & Stream.)

He should do this, for heck's sake. It's the culmination of his open-book life's work, and it's what he campaigned saying he was going to do, in consequence of which he won a big victory.

If we conservatives can get one good thing from Obama, maybe it will be his inspiring Americans to trust that politicians can campaign as they believe and govern as they campaign, and thereafter take the judgment of the people as to whether or not they were successful -- something on which Republicans have fallen down upon profoundly.

Now we just have to find candidates who can offer not only that compact of philosophical integrity, but a strong reason to believe that they have the intellectual depth and flexibility necessary to make to apply their philosophy to inherently unpredictable challenges.
