Matthews: Palin 'Talking About God,' is 'Troubling'
Newsbusters ^ | November 11, 2008 | Geoffrey Dickens

Posted on 11/11/2008 4:43:54 PM PST by St. Louis Conservative

After airing an interview clip of Sarah Palin telling Fox News' Greta Van Susteren that she was looking for guidance from God about running for national office again, an appalled Chris Matthews called it "troubling," when he let loose this rant on Tuesday's "Hardball":

Is, is this commentary about theocracy and going to God for approval? We've been through that with President Bush who said he, "didn't take advice from his father, he got it from another father." And we've been through this sort of Joan of Arc period. Are we gonna get another piece of this where God's leading candidates to run for president? I mean that sort of keeps us out of the conversation doesn't it? I mean, seriously, I mean God is telling her to run? And she's saying it openly on a secular television show? This isn't the religious hour....Talking about God, in a political setting is troubling to a lot of people. If you're talking about a big tent, this looks more like the church tent, not the big tent.

Then a little later in the program, Matthews returned to Palin's expressions of faith and noted that kind of talk can be,"dangerous." And when his guest, former Dick Cheney aide Ron Christie, said he was tired of the media picking on Palin when, in fact, Joe Biden made a lot of blunders, Matthews let this howler fly: "Joe Biden took more hits from the media than anybody for the last 30 years!"

Yes, Crissy, some people actually talk about God, even when it’s not the “God hour.”

“What is his problem with God”?

I can’t answer that question but I can tell you what Gods problem is with him. He is a humanist, a wilted branch, an apostate, an absolute lost sinner damned, doomed, depressed, alienated from God, without hope, destined for an eternity in hell. He has been turned over to a reprobate mind and all that yearn for their eternal home with God and our savior Jesus Christ cannot be happier.

Chrissy will get to see God- but only for a moment...
Maybe then when he is in limbo or worse forever he will realize how much Sarah’s faith means to her.

Matthews needs to be excommunicated from the Catholic Church.

I agree.

Liberals generally have absolutely no problem with insincere expressions of faith, like those from Bill, Hillary, or Jimmy Carter.

It's only when they sense honesty in the declaration that they become afraid.

I do believe that Chris Matthews is seriously mentally ill. He has abandoned all logic and reason and is now living in an alternate reality.

You have to remember the hissy fit isn’t a serious “news person”...his sole function is for his handlers to loose him onto the public, so that they can chuckle at our responses on FR at their smug cocktail parties.

Neither are worth paying a bit of attention to.

I find the fact that Chrissy is still obsessing over her every word troubling.

THIS would have really freaked them out.

LOL! Yes, Chrissy, if God is speaking to His people, what you say about them is indeed irrelevant.

Matthews is in the decompesation stage of paranoid schizophrenia. He should seek help.

Diagnostic Criteria for Schizophrenia:

Characteristic symptoms: Two (or more) of the following, each present for a significant portion of time during a 1-month period (or less if successfully treated):

1.delusions

2.hallucinations

3.disorganized speech (e.g., frequent derailment or incoherence)

4.Projectile spitting. (No—I made that one up.)

I think Matthews may have some female or mommy issues or just some tendencies towards another sex - makes him vomit and spew hate at the sight and sound of women.

Honestly, I find that people who are lacking God in their life or some type of spirituality hold onto such resentments and grudges and they can’t get beyond hate - it really is quite a cancerous emotion and it’s sad and pathetic that there are quite of few like this is society today.

Please get the video of Obama and Hilary on that CNN “Faith In Politics” lovefest, in which Obama went on and on about being saved by Jesus and looking to God to tell him what to do, and then tel the liberals to shove it.

Matthews and Olberman have a bet with each other on who can get fired first. ;)

Nope. Disagree. Matthews is hoping that coming out against God will get him a better contract extension then Olbermann received.

This is good news! It won't be long before the wretched ones call Gov Palin an 'amiable dunce' - then we know she will succeed!

God bless Sarah Palin!
