Prop 8 Protests Against Mormons, Other Churches Gets Ugly (Gay Activists At A Mass Call Jesus A Homo
The Bulletin ^ | 11/12/2008 | Joe Murray

Posted on 11/14/2008 7:25:12 AM PST by Laissez-faire capitalist

Although a week has passed since California voters overturned that state's Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage, the state has felt numerous aftershocks as gay rights activists have mounted large-scale protests directed at supporters of Prop 8, specifically the Mormon church.

... Demonstrations outside Mormon temples were reported over the weekend throughout California and more are anticipated nationwide. The Mormon church, however, is not the only Prop 8 supporter coming under criticism for its role in the controversial election, as Catholics and Evangelical churches have seen protests, as well.

An estimated 10,000 gay-rights protesters gathered in San Diego, Calif. outside Saddleback Church. The church is home to Pastor Rick Warren...

... Catholic churches were also protested Sunday, and one protest in Michigan turned ugly.

A group of about 30 gay rights activists from the group "Bash Back!" stormed into Mount Hope Church in Lansing. Mich. and unfurled a large rainbow flag at the pulpit. The group also tried to disrupt the Mass by banging on cans and shouting "Jesus was a homo."

You're equating gay “marriage” with a fundamental right enshrined in the Bill of Rights?

Pure HATE SPEECH...why weren’t they arrested??

Because there are no laws against hate speech. Clearly the Michigan incident involved tresspass. Most states have laws against disrupting religious services. IMO, some of these sound very close to that. There's a Synigogue in Michigan which has been picketed for years by palestinian supporters. Including photographing and compiling lists of worshippers, which in my view is disruptive, but there's not much law enforcement can do as long as the protestors aren't violent.

No, you are wrong.

You are siding with anti-constitutional liberal church disruptors and haters like them, and so you don’t belong here at FR. This is a place for grass roots CONSERVATIVES.

They will rock society to rubble if they have to to get their way, and only their way, and everyone else’s way be damned.

It has been a constitutional principle and societal principle for Western society for over 200 years that marriage be left up to the states, and only the states, not the courts.

Gays don’t care about that. They dont care about voting. They want only what they want, the ballot box be damned. So, they must be stopped, because what the hell does the ballot box and “of the people, by the people, for the people” matter anymore if voting becomes just a formality

yeah, what’s with that? i guess they try to equate it with being black so why not elevate it to equivalency with the right to bear arms. it’s nonsensical, but apparently this is what passes for rational thought these days.

Saying “Really do you wet your bed at night?” is a personal attack against him.

You will stop this or you will be reported to the mods.

No personal attacks allowed at FR.

You’ve been warned.

It seems to be only a matter of time before you get Zotted.

If so, you must think Ahhnold is a the next Conservative Superstar.

Ahhnold is not changing actually changing the other way. Romney changed his views. Everybody is entitled to change once. Didn't Reagan been union leader (actors union) and a democrat before he became conservative ?

Don't you want the people on other side see the light ?

Overturn the second amendment?

That’s fearmongering on your part.

BTW, are you a homosexual?

Jesus a homo? I say if you wander around the desert for years with a bunch of guys who barely bathe that the LAST thing you’re going to be is homosexual. =)

“Mormons don’t even believe Christ is the son of God.”

You need to get your anti-Mormon propaganda straight. Of course we believe that Christ is the Son of God. The Only Begotten, just as the Bible says. What we don’t believe is that He is his OWN son, because we don’t believe the “three in one” stuff.

I guaranty that if we accept gay marriage the next thing they will demand will be for gay men to have babies. The fact that they lack a womb will only enrage them as they struggle against life’s oppression.

......the hard core Homosexual’s(but not all homosexuals) ultimate agenda is to ‘enter unions’ with children-—basically pedophile lifestyle

Not true. they were “getting married.” I’ve no problem with civil contracts. But marriage contracts are something else, and the civil laws regarding them are meant to address a marriage between a man and a woman, family. Not fags.

I am not afraid of this bad behavior by the homofacists because it shows their true colors to the rest of the lazy, hide their head in the sand, wimpy, “conservatives” who either didn’t vote or voted against 8 in a “live and let live” attitude. We are in a spiritual war here..and if the wimps can be convinced that there really is an enemy, then society as a whole might have a chance.

"Did they attack churches before Prop 8?'

Absolutely. What planet have you been on?

Christians have just as much right to teach their Christian values as the homos do to keep pushing their twisted lifestyle in everyone’s face.

What do they hope to accomplish with this? Do they think all these churchgoing folks are going to say, “Well, golly gee whillikers! We can see now that we’ve been unfair to all those lovely, tolerant people protesting outside. Let’s reverse Prop 8”? This is so stupid. It’s not going to change anyone’s mind, OR undo the voting that’s already taken place.
