I'm trying to figure out what they hope to achieve now and how. Anybody heard of how Patty Hearst is doing now and if she ever got deprogrammed (Stockholm Syndrome)?
What does any of this have to do with democracy? The SDS and the Weather Underground never favored democracy. They favored an authoritarian leftist state, which they deigned to call “democracy”. Democracy is the enemy of the leftist, since it grants people the power to disagree with the leftist.
This is what I find pretty fascinating. A grown man, who has been nothing short of successful despite the fact that he should be in prison--still holds these views. He hasn't matured, his perspective hasn't changed, not maturation of thought. Leads me to really believe everything Yuri Bezmenov said in that video about demoralization that floats around the net.

Democracy, in this sense, hinges on the interplay between language and thought. The word’s meaning is being corrupted for extremists’ purposes. Similar to how red now representing Repubs and blue, Dems. We all know that the Dems are really “red” but it is to their advanyage to remove such an obvious association with their true ideals as the color “red” represents. IMO it goes hand-in-hand with their takeover of the public education system.

Agreed. We should no longer allow the left to define and corrupt our language. It should be one of the first steps in taking back our country! What better place to begin than on FR?
Precisely. Unfortunately, there’s far too many on here that won’t stop the usage. To be perfectly honest, I find the usage has moved (to me) from being minor irritation (during the ‘00 election and immediately afterwards) to being outright offensive. I don’t like snapping at fellow Conservatives over this, but when I see a heavily GOP area (state, county, what-have-you) labelled chirpily as “Red” by one of ours, I’m seriously about ready to choke somebody.
Perhaps we can get Fox News to switch. It would be a start.
