BTW, Obama got into Columbia and Harvard because he is a legacy ~ something his Grandmother knew all about. He did not have to compete for entry ~
Obama’s mom would have flunked the test for her foreign born son to be considered a “natural born” US citizen - born to a foreign national on foreign soil, and had not yet lived in the US a minimum of 5 years from the age of 14 when she gave birth to Barry. That was the law in 1961 for her circumstances.
Which his mother was none of the above and married to a nonUS citizen. And a passport does not make you a US citizen just because your Mom is. Really it is basic govenment class, 1973.
If Obama was born in Kenya, then he flunks the “natural born” citizen test - by our own rules.
Rule - mother of child, fathered by a foreign national, and born on foreign soil, would have had to live a minimum of 5 years from the age of 14 in the US prior to the birth her child on foreign soil to be considered a natural born citizen.
He is not a natural born U.S. citizen. That is my point.

That is because you are right. She did relinquish her citizenship. Indonesia rules were strick then and now. Obama traveled there also when it wasn’t permited by our gov and only a citizen from Indonesia could have gone there. Obama wouldn’t answer questions about his Mother or Grandmother. Why do you think no one was ever allowed to interview his grandmother in Hawaii or Kenya. First reports was his grandmother in Kenya said she was present at his birth there. After that no reporter was allowed near her.

The Democrats tried to disqualify McCain earlier with an argument that if he was actually born in one hospital rather than another, then he wasn't a US citizen at birth. Didn't work. The main thing is the citizenship of the parent and how it was acquired.
This country used to have a lot more liberties.
The state of Hawaii has verified that the man was born in the United States on Hawaiian soil. Just this month the Hawaii Health office verified that the man was born IN HAWAII. (See http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html)
Luckily, 99% of folks here have moved on from this a long time ago.
1) What happens if Obama’s team asks for a continuance? Since it is very close to time for the Electors to vote, would the SC grant it?
2) If Obama produces a certified birth certificate, how will it be verified? Would the FBI, CIA, ??? test and verify/refute it?
3) What happens if Obama stalls the Court and refuses to produce anything? What can the Supreme Court do? Could they refuse to allow the Electors to vote? De-certify (may be wrong term) the election?
4) Who would be President then? Biden? Pelosi? Who?
Interesting times are coming whatever happens.

That is not what the law says - or more correctly SAID, for as you correctly note, it has been changed.
Big difference for McCain:
- BOTH parents were natural born US citizens
- Both parents were outside of the continental United States at the service of it’s government
- Panama was a US territory at the time.
Given these facts, trying to place McCain’s birth in a hospital several hundered yards outside of the Military base was completely desperate and transparant.
If Barry was in fact born in Kenya, his mother’s circumstances do not even compare to McCain’s. Worse yet, if true, he is further burdened with attempting to cover an incredible lie and harmful deciept to the citizens of the US. Unlike Obama, McCain openly released his original BC to the media and behaved like a serious candidate.
