Barack Obama: God's choice ?
WND ^ | November 29, 2008 | Drew Zahn

Did God play a role in the election of Barack Obama, and could the Democrat even be God's sovereign choice for our next president?

The answers to those questions vary widely, depending on who is doing the answering.

Among those praising the heavens for Obama's victory was Larry Younginer of suburban Atlanta, who the Chicago Tribune reports kneeling at his church and praying the day after Obama's victory.

"Lord, we have again come to you," Younginger prayed, "and you have heard our cries from heaven, and you have sent us again from the state called Illinois a man called Barack to heal our land."

The Rev. Randolph Bracy Jr. at New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando, told the Orlando Sentinel that the victory of a young and inexperienced Obama was like the victory of the biblical boy, David, over the giant, Goliath.

More likely Obama was sent by another agency to pave the way for the end times. Babylon(Iraq) had to be freed first.

A few weeks ago one of our fellow Freepers pointed out 1 Samuel chapter 8, in which the people beg God for a king. He responds (paraphrased), okay, you want a king, you can have one, and you will reap the consequences.

I think it's more likely to be akin to when Israel clamored for a king and chose Saul, even though God warned them and had already chosen David.

As for God "choosing" leaders to do His will, people should pay close attention to things such as Revelation 17:17 where it reads -

(NKJV) For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.

Revelation 17:17 is talking about 10 kings of the earth. Powerful men, even if for a short time.

God let Israel suffer a bad king, but do people say that Saul was God's choice? David did acknowledge Saul as "God's Anointed" and refused to kill him on several occasions because of this, but Saul was most definitely NOT God's choice.

I'm betting that Obama is more likely to be one of the 10 who give their authority over to the beast. Let us not forget that his ilk fully endorse the murder of the unborn, homosexuality, and the denial of God. They will give sovereignty away in the name of "unity", and why not? It's in their nature!

Poorly directed free will is probably one of the most debilitating facets of human nature, and it is PRECISELY why we have the empty paper sack of a president elect that we have now.

Good grief; I hope that's not true.

I'd hate to think that thousands of us, most of us Christians, would have played a part in that.

Now you have to understand, there are some very different aspects of “God” to different people. Not all the “angels” are on the side of goodness and light, and if there were no Devil, God would have to invent an equivalent counter-diety. The Zoroastrians had a reasonably good concept, with Ahriman representing the “dark forces”, and Ahura Mazda representing the “light”.

We just have people who have used the two dieties as moral equivalents, and they honestly do not know the difference.

Which makes their prayer no less sincere, that they pray to a God who represents the spread of darkness.

True.

The same was true of the selection of Mao Ze Dong in China, Hitler in Germany, and many other despots.

Nations who have taken their eyes off God and His word and make material things their idols, always eventually find a walking-talking god/idol. And God permits them to have their choice to teach them what they have become.

It’s also a lesson in what godless DEMOCRACY produces when a republic forgets that its founders insisted on a republican form of government, and so they begin using mob-action democracy to choose their leaders.

No, Obama was not sent from God. But, there are times when God allows certain events to take place to wake HIS people up out of their apathetic state.

Knowing this will upset some but oh well, admit it, overall, many who claim to be Christians are lazy, scared, intimidated and many are now PC, thus, we have something like Obama elected as President of the United States. Yeah, sometimes things have to take place to wake a nation up.

So, get ready.

Things that had to happen that I would have sworn 10 years ago would never happen in my lifetime:

Babylon had to be freed in order to fulfill her role in the end times (We started that ball rolling. It was a good deed done for the correct reasons, but it will have consequences.)

The Gospel had to be preached to all the nations of the world. (After 911, at the memorial service, Billy Graham gave the basics of the Gospel. What tugged at my spirit was hearing the announcers say that this broadcast was sent to “every nation of the world.”

If God chose him, then God has some work to do to change his heart. God would not choose a man who votes for unlimited abortion and post abortion infanticide.

How about, “God allowed”?

You're right, He gives us free will. Perhaps this had to happen in order for us to regain our liberties and our strength that so many of us have prayed for.

Perhaps we needed to be awakened.

Again.

Before the election, I was up in the middle of the night praying. It seems those are the times he likes to grab my attention.

I don't claim to "know" Gods will, but I felt God impressed upon me that Obama would win, and that end time events were going to speed up, and to prepare.

I don't think end time events will speed up "because" of Obama. He is just the one who will be used to facilitate things along.

I don't see the US being a player in prophecy. Which means the US has to be minimalized for prophetic completion.

There is a coming war, commonly refered to the war of Gog and Magog. Israel is attacked by Russia and Iran and a coalition of other nations. According to the Bible, no one defends Israel. In fact Israel doesn't even get to defend itself. But God defends Israel, and makes it very apparent that it was a true "act of God" that defends Israel. The nations that rise up against Israel will be virtually wiped off the face of the earth. 1/5th of the earths population will be destroyed. It will take Israel 7 months just to bury the dead.

Right now the US is strong enough to be a deterrent to Russia and Iraq. Our nation must be removed from the forefront, to allow this coalition to advance. I think Obama is the one to "weaken" our world stature.

I wish I could live in an age were the US was strong and vibrant, and could persue all my dreams. But I think those days are ending. I think world events are orchestrating to bring a "savior" from world wide war, and famine, and economic crisis.

I think Christians need to shift their focus from "earthly" dreams to kingdom needs. We need to focus on the harvest. The fields are ready, and the weather is about to change.

Obama won this election on lies, cover-ups, deceit, and thievery. I don’t think God would approve of these methods but the Anti-Christ would.

“For wicked men are found among my people, they watch like fowlers lying in wait; they set a trap, they catch men. Like a cage full of birds, so their houses are full of deceit, therefore they have become great and rich. They are fat, they are sleek. They also excel in deeds of wickedness; they do not plead the cause, the cause of the orphan, that they may prosper; and they do not defend the rights of the poor. Shall I not punish these people?” declares the Lord.

“On a nation such as this, shall I not avenge myself? An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land; the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule on their own authority; and my people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it?”

Jeremiah 5:26-31

I personally believe that the nation won't survive this. Too many people as so ignorant of God's Word to think that we're so great a nation that God would go so far as to choose our leader?! We don't even rate in the scriptures! ...other than being bundled with the rest of the Goyim.

People should look past this and prepare for the results of what we're seeing the beginnings of now. But they aren't. Americans don't want to "lose" anything. They don't want to lose the house in the cul-de-sac, the medical insurance, the high speed Internet access....every nicety and creature comfort that we enjoy here in America. Too many have forgotten that peace and prosperity are only gained at the expense of force rendered with godly wisdom. Too many "sell" their vote to pandering politicians who promise a temporary security, which results in the willing forfeiture of "inalienable" rights. Too many in this nation have become slaves. The financial crisis which we're all observing now gives proof to what I've just written, but there are other things as well although there's not enough room here to write them all.

Judgment is coming to this nation, and people should "disconnect" from it now and turn to the Lord Yeshua (Jesus).

***Obama has done neither good nor ill as of yet***

Wait till he signs the FOCA and Catholic Hospitals and staff have the “choice” to abort babies or shut down.
