This is has become definite tinfoil hat territory.

Oh okay -- so then you can guarantee to us all that Obama is a natural born citizen??? Where is your evidence???

The more I read about all of this the more I am angry with everybody and that includes John McCain and the RNC.

If you read Donofrio's case he listed John McCain as not eligible and this has been nagging at me. You see, I think McCain knew he had a problem with his Natural Born status, too. Earlier this year the Senate passed a resolution to confer Natural Born status on John McCain. Why? He ran in 2000 and was assumed to be legit at the time, why would that change in 2008? I think he must have discovered he, constitutionally, wasn't a Natural Born Citizen and got his buddies in the Senate, one of whom was Obama, to rectify it. The RNC must have been aware of this and perpetrated a fraud on the Republican voters. I kept bashing my head against the wall during the campaign wondering why the RNC, McCain other Rep. Officials, talk show hosts included were not making Obama's citizenship an issue and this is because they had all been compromised. Everyone keeps saying 'they all know about Obama but won't say anything', but they all knew about McCain, too.

There is evidence available, for what it may be worth, that he was not born in the Panama Canal Zone..

Yes ... the McCain Birth Certificate; this is the kind of document we want to see for Obama but have never been shown. Thanks for posting it.

I looked at it and noticed that it states that McCain was born at Colon Hospital. Setting aside that I know something of the history of the US presence in Panama, from just looking at a Map of the historic "Panama Canal Zone" it is CLEAR that Colon was WITHIN the Zone, as was Colon Hospital.

Here, see for yourself: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ac/CanalZone.gif

Hence, McCain was born on US Territory, under US Jurisdiction, the son of two US Citizens, and is therefore a native born US Citizen.

Donofrio contends that McCain obtained his citizenship at birth - not from the Constitution, but from a federal statute. He further says that because McCain was not born on US soil - the Panama Canal Zone never was considered US soil - he is not a natural born citizen.

A child born of two US citizens is a “natural born” American; regardless of their location at the time of birth.

In AMERICA (because of a stupid USSC decision), a child born within the borders or on US property (Embassy, US territory, etc...) is a “natural born” citizen (think anchor babies); regardless of their nationality.

Since his mother was an American, but his father was NOT, the location of his birth is the ONLY thing that matters in this instance.

You may very well be right. I honestly do not know.

Sometimes I’m happy I’m old, not in the best of health and have no kids.

NOW we have other? We have had “other” for quite a while: ACLU, NAACP, US Congress, etc...! The problem is that we now have an “other” that is about to be President-Elect.

I learned a saying in Marine Corps boot camp: locks are designed to keep honest people, honest! Think about it, gun laws are only effective on LAWFUL citizens; crooks don’t give a CRAP about the law!

John Quincy Adams, and all the other founding fathers, never thought there would come a day where 52% of the people in the US would be willing to ignore the very document that gives them the right to do what they do everyday!

My 18-year old daughter voted for this idiot. I tried to explain to her that I spent 10 years of my life fighting against the very things that he wants to bring to America. We are in scary times.

The Dems probably have a ton of dirt on GOP congressmen which is why they aren't saying a word. Remember when Clinton got all those FBI files when he took office?

The GOP is probably being blackmailed big time by the Dems and are being intimidated into shutting up over this Birth Certificate issue.

Americans who believe in the Constitution aren't going to shut up.

Dave Ammons, spokesman for Secretary of State Sam Reed's office, said in an e-mail to the Herald that the state's position is that Reed is not required and does not have the authority to investigate the qualifications of candidates for president and vice president.

Sam Reed is a lying sack of shit. He has the inherent power to take whatever steps to necessary to carry out his duties, whether stated or implied. Any reasonable person understands that this means he must insure that only qualified candidates are permitted on the ballot.

RCW 43.07.030 - General duties.

The secretary of state shall:
(1) Keep a register of and attest the official acts of the governor;

(2) Affix the state seal, with his attestation, to commissions, pardons, and other public instruments to which the signature of the governor is required, and also attestations and authentications of certificates and other documents properly issued by the secretary;

(6) Certify to the legislature the election returns for all officers required by the Constitution to be so certified, and certify to the governor the names of all other persons who have received at any election the highest number of votes for any office the incumbent of which is to be commissioned by the governor;

RCW 43.310 The secretary of state, through the division of elections, is responsible for the following duties, as prescribed by Title 29A RCW:

4) The administration, canvassing, and certification of the presidential primary, state primaries, and state general elections;

RCW 29A.20.161 - Certificate of nomination — Requisites.

A certificate evidencing nominations made at a convention must:

(1) Be in writing;
(2) Contain the name of each person nominated, his or her residence, and the office for which he or she is named, and if the nomination is for the offices of president and vice president of the United States, a sworn statement from both nominees giving their consent to the nomination; RCW 29A.20.021 - Qualifications for filing, appearance on ballot.

(1) A person filing a declaration of candidacy for an office shall, at the time of filing, be a registered voter and possess the qualifications specified by law for persons who may be elected to the office.

As one can see from just these few statutes, Sam Reed is lying.

I hope my fellow FReepers, Conservatives and anyone with an interest in preserving the Constitution of the United States will take note of the deafening silence coming from the GOP.

Do you know if anyone from the Constitution Party or Libertarian Party are making a fuss about this?

It seems like a natural for the Constitution Party. I will contact them. Maybe, we all should.

“Who, or what office were these documents demanded by and received?”

I'm not positive, but I assume the Supervisor of Elections office. Their web site (www.voteindianriver.com/calendarevents.aspx?id=3) says,

“For Candidates, Political Committees, Committees of Continuous Existence, Electioneering Communication Organizations, and Independent Expenditure Organizations”

Then, it has a calendar which gives the date of when certain things are due. I will ask her the next time I speak with her, and if it is something other than this, I will post it.

Thanks, but don’t go crazy over this. As I said, I’m just interested.
I find it amazing that there are counties that have provisions to check the eligibility of its elected officers while no one can figure out who does this or has “standing” to do this on a national level.

“I’ve never listened much to Hannity, and after that idiotic statement I will not be in the future either.”

I am starting to go that way myself. All Hannity and any Conservative host has to say about the issue is SCOTUS should request the original birth certificate to fulfill constitutional obligations and that’s the end of it.

They don’t even have to ask why or question why Obama hasn’t done that yet.

I’m willing to stipula that he is a natural born American. But, I think he is only 34 years old and therefore fails the qualifications to be POTUS :-)

Afterall, there is just as proof of his age as anything else - nothing - no official documents, no BC, no other evidence, just zero’s word - which is worth less than the pile of dog poo my neightbor’s dog left in my yard this morning...

“But why is it tinfoil hat territory? A very basic Constitutional requirement needs to be verified. If the suspicion were that he was only 34 years old, would that also not be an issue if he hadn’t adequately proved that he was of the constitutionally mandated age?”

What I find interesting is that during the Olympics Americans were hellbent on finding out the age of Chinese gymnasts but with our own President Americans are silent.

Tells you how out of touch we are with our own Constitution.
