I was wondering why there were so many regular posters missing. I don’t get involved with arguments so I missed the whole thing.
And I’m glad of that because life is just too short to spend in conflict with friends.
A Look back at 2008 (and 2007) articles that I found interesting which received little and/or very short-lived main-stream media exposure.

” Murdoch brought Obama to a meeting with Ailes so that Obama could tell Ailes to change the Fox coverage of the O. They sat knee to knee and Obama is not afraid of Ailes.”
So did Ailes bend over and kiss O’s ass or tell him to go F himself. I note FOX has drifted left and the obvious event of Brit Hume bailing out (even tho predicted) has me a tad worried. Who will replace Brit?...Krystol?
“Peach got cuaght in the Great Purge of April, 2007, a bad time for all FReepers.”
What was that all about? Did the system die or what? Before my time.
Please see the link at reply #83.
Also notice my 15 minutes of fame :)
We don’t know what Roger Ailes said or did at that meeting, but we do know that Fox news regulars were very soft on the Messiah.
Just scanning the thread ... I’m with you, Bah, I explode at the mere mention of her. She’s a criminal, anti-American and politically opportunistic, through and through. So now comes this.

AP: Obama Will Not Prosecute War Crimes

###
Excerpt:
But then we have the question of the two anonymous sources. The Obama transition team is enormous and it is peopled, appropriately enough, with a number of figures who have direct experience in the Bush Administrations war on terror.
No problem with thatin fact, Obama would be remiss if he failed to build such experience into his team. But there are a number of names in play right now who have troubling connections to the dark side of the intelligence communitys war on terror and who have pressing reasons to lobby against any investigation of any sort.
Why? Because their own judgment-calls might come under unpleasant scrutiny. Just some for-instances:
* John Brennan, who regularly surfaces as a key Obama advisor on intelligence issues and is supposedly in the running for a key intelligence community post. Brennan has a completely ambiguous record on the torture issue, depending on whether he speaks from the agency, as a commentator or on behalf of President-Elect Obama.
* Jamie Miscik, another intelligence community careerist who was very close to the WMD in Iraq imbroglio and more recently was a key player at Lehmanand now understandably needs a new roofis another figure who would clearly rather avoid a probe of the torture issue.
* And finally Jamie Gorelick, a former key Clinton Justice Department official who, according to intelligence community sources, took a whopping retainer from the CIA to counsel and protect the psychologists who crafted the guts of the Bush torture program. Gorelick, a Hillary Clinton partisan, is also a name in play for a senior intelligence post.

Like she really helped us more than she hurt us. Just gag me.
Oh no. She's like a vampire...extremely dangerous amd deadly and you just can't get rid of her no matter what you do.
Gore Lick is two words
. For me many of his actions, from Sec. defense on down, just wreak of hey don't look at me too closely and I won't look at you too closely.
Problem is we already know that whatever he says has a life expectancy of bread or milk,in other words not too long before the change he promises comes true.
Starwise....something tells me that the Obama dept of justice is going to be MUCH more active in going after his “enemies” than Pres. Bush’s DOJ was.
The lefties are going to be very vocal in their demands for trials for Pres. Bush and Cheney. Obama may not go that far, but, I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t let the Congress have some “show hearings”....just to give the Code Pink people a place to sit for a while.
Oh .. I’m totally a skeptic, proven by his flips for the sake of expediency. This is going to be (God help us and God forbid) his war, his record for terrorism here on US soil, his economy and his policies as the embodiment of our reputation in the world and how much or whether or not we’re feared.
That’s a bottom line, as Pres. Bush projects the right amount of uncertainty to the tyrants of the world as to how far we will go to protect the USA .. and I know he will until the moment he leaves, God love him.
I have no doubt Mr. 0-man will drop crumbs frequently for his deranged base .. it all remains to be seen as to the balance he chooses to strike and how much of an inherent radical he really is.
Wow, I so haven’t been paying attention. Even the Sunday thread is minimal now.
And snugs is gone.
why is snugs gone????

I believe her Dad took a turn for the worse. She’s been very busy. There was a prayer thread for them a few weeks ago. Please pray for her and him!
