Interesting situation. Some of the biggest, toughest guys in America need to carry guns.
Seems that pretty much makes the case for the rest of us.
Best regards to all,
He’s a former Cowboy, that’s why............
These individuals can afford bodyguards, and it does not make sense to hang out anywhere you’re likely to need a gun!
That said, if everyone carried we’d be safer. There’d also be darned few “law abiding” citizens left in NYC. Hardly anyone can get a carry permit there.
The wide receiver should not have had a round in the guns receiver, he should have had a holster that covered the trigger and kept it secure in his pants, Glock’s safety is on the trigger so he should have kept his finger off the trigger, he should not carry and drink, he should have taken a gun safety course and practiced regularily, He should have had a permit (good luck in NYC), he should have been home in bed at 2AM. Other than that as a red blooded American male he should be able to exercise his Constituional right to bear arms.
So Big Burly Guy Party of the First Part pays Big Burly Guy Party of the Second Part to carry a gun for him and wimpers like a little girl whenever he is in a d-d-d-dangerous part of town by himself.
Got it!

Ah — the ever-present “bodyguard capability” clause of the 2nd amendment.
The 2nd amendment applies even to those that can afford bodyguards, and especially to those that venture into areas where they’re “likely to need a gun”.
SnakeDoc
Let me get you up to speed.
Violence can happen anywhere.
If it was an actual Glock (and not a “Glock” as in any-black-pistol-the-media-sees), he most certainly should’ve had a round in the chamber, or else why carry it?
Every time on TV you see the bad guy rack the slide to make his big dramatic threat, if you don’t see a cartridge go flying out he’s been waving an unfireable gun the whole time.
Was it a Glock? I hadn’t heard that.
Yeah. Hiring that bodyguard to ‘protect’ Pacman Jones. How’d that work out?
I agree with everything else in your statement except this part. There's no reason that a modern semi-auto can't be carried with one in the pipe, provided it's carried in a proper holster and the person keeps their booger-hook off of the bang switch.
Trying to decide between < /lib response > and < /sarc >, neglected to add either!
“If it was an actual Glock (and not a Glock as in any-black-pistol-the-media-sees), he most certainly shouldve had a round in the chamber, or else why carry it?”
In a holster where the trigger is protected, I’d be comfortable with a round in the chamber. In my pants next to the family jewels, I think not. Since he reached in and grabbed the gun pulling the safety and trigger and shot himself, he would have been better off with an empty chamber. Shoud a situation begin to develop, and there are usually percursers to a crises, a discreet chambering of a round might be warranted. Waving around a gun, chambered or not is not a good thing.
Well, so much for wanting him to win Obama’s old Senate seat.
While I like Ditka, I never made the mistake of thinking he was anything other than a football player and former coach.
I’m surprised anyone is disappointed to discover he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

And a few other "rights."
This guy’s taking Ditka’s comment WAY too seriously. Ditka was saying this on ESPN, the sports censorship network (remember Rush?). There’s no way Dika’s going to allow himself to be terminated over a pro 2nd amendment comment.
Ditka’s not nearly as stupid as some of you think he is.
