SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – A lawyer for Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich told state lawmakers Thursday that the federal wiretaps at the heart of the pay-to-play allegations against his client were illegally obtained, and therefore should be kept out of any impeachment proceedings. The wiretaps are crucial to the federal charges filed against Blagojevich last week. Prosecutors say they caught the Democratic governor discussing efforts to auction off Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat and pressure a hospital executive for campaign donations.

Genson told the impeachment committee that it shouldn't consider any material from the wiretaps, saying the evidence was "illegally obtained."

We’ll have to wait and see what St. Fitzmas puts in Blago’s stocking for Christmas but I am betting on coal, hard coal.

Oh I hope this keeps getting nastier and nastier. Keeps it in the news. Poor Lisa Madigan,,,this is not the news she was looking for (sarc). I hope Blago fights until his last breath, not because he’s innocent but because he can!

The Legislature said Blago’s lawyer tried everything in the book during yesterday’s session. They were expecting it.

Well yes, but don’t they have to prove the evidence was illegally obtained?

It’s a good thing it wasn’t gotten from the Martin’s and given to Rep. Jim McDermott. Then transcripts would be published and all would know about Obama’s dirty deal with Blago. Oh wait, Blago is a Democrat, never mind.

Not necessarily. This is Blago's lawyer who is saying this. All this means is that a motion has been filed to exclude the wire taps as evidence. A judge must rule on the motion and that won't happen straight away. I expect the evidence will not be excluded. The FBI isn't completely populated by fools. They usually know what they are doing as far as procedure goes. Especially in a high profile case like this.

Of course he is. Blago is golden just like the Magic Mullato, Zero.

Oh , shoot! 3rd Time around isn't always the charm, eh, Rahm?

Rahm Emanuel (right) listens as Barack Obama announces his economic team during last month's press conference in Chicago. Corruption-tainted Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich fought back Wednesday against charges he tried to auction off president-elect Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat for personal gain. First, he says he said nothing wrong or illegal. Now he says that the wiretaps were illegal. Tomorrow, he’ll say that he was on medication when he spoke. Next week, he’ll say that it wasn’t him....it was his alter ego. Next month, he’ll say that it was his evil twin who said stuff.

For you poor slobs who live in Illinois....and voted for this nut...I offer my sorrow. The only thing you can do....is pack up and head to California as quickly as possible.

Pretty much what you would expect but, get a Judge who is a Clinton appointee or is like minded and Blago is home free.
