There was no Memorex around when the brontosauri were bidding bye-bye, but I think we have a pretty good idea of what they sounded like as they were going extinct. Just listen to Brian Williams this morning. Appearing on Morning Joe, the NBC Nightly News anchor lamented the decline of "classically-trained" journalists in favor of guys with "an opinion and a modem."
A question from Pat Buchanan about the ebbing fortunes of the old media set Williams off on a soliloquy he assured us was not self-interested.

One wonders just what fantasies and false memories Brian Williams is indulging in here.
He reminds me of public school teachers who claim that only public school teachers are qualified to teach.
This pompous ass dropped out of college.
University journalism classes have done for the media what education classes and teacher certification have done for our public schools.
My J school degree provided me with the ability to make business appointments with customers and write good business letters. I scribbled for eight years before I found my true calling.
“University journalism classes have done for the media what education classes and teacher certification have done for our public schools.”
Precisely.
Ocho Cinco ?
Thanks! If I can brighten wintertime, I consider my day a success!
Did he really? Now that's funny. I wouldn't hold that against anybody but in light of his supreme arrogance that is priceless.
According to wikipedia he did.
Wasn’t Peter Jennings a high school dropout (and a Canadian to boot)?
"Have a colonoscopy done once every five years."
says MSM talks out of both orifices
I'm confused.
Which ones are these?
Williams is not stupid. You have to wonder, though, if he has the faintest clue that “classical journalism” cut its own throat by choosing a side and putting an agenda - - a socialist, “blame America first” agenda - - ahead of the truth? Whatever. Good riddance to bad garbage.
Heavy sigh - my nephew just graduated UT with a degree in radio-television-film. His father asked him what he wanted to do when he graduated: “I wanna be on TV” was the answer. Argh...
They reach a conclusion and then look for data to support their conclusion.
It does seem that way...
BOL!
Williams has probably never met a real journalist. One who investigates and reports what he/she/it finds without using the liberal matrix/agenda.
If you’re curious about the world and you can write an interesting, grammatical sentence, you may having the makings of a good newspaperman/woman. To be a journalist, you only have to have axe to grind.
