Protests at The New School, where a student uprising over the leadership of the university’s president, Bob Kerrey, led to clashes with the police and at least one arrest on Thursday morning, took another wild turn later on Thursday evening.

A little after 11:30 p.m., Mr. Kerrey emerged from a university building on Fifth Avenue south of 14th Street to a sea of a few hundred protesters chanting for his resignation. As Mr. Kerrey walked down Fifth Avenue toward 12th Street, about 30 protesters began following him, some of them shouting insults.

As the crowd’s pace quickened, so did Mr. Kerrey’s. Then, Mr. Kerrey, who lost a part of his leg in Vietnam and wears a prosthesis, broke into a run. The protesters gave chase. Mr. Kerrey turned left on a cross street and ducked into a brownstone.

At some point in the confrontation, a protester threw a tomato at Mr. Kerrey.

( ... )

Mr. Kerrey, the former governor and United States senator from Nebraska who was given an overwhelming vote of no confidence from the university’s faculty in recent days, showed up at 11:30 a.m. asking to address the dissident students, but they voted not to hear him out.

The student demonstration began Wednesday evening in the ground-floor cafeteria, with about 50 of them staying overnight citing a list of grievances with the Kerrey administration, dating back to his early support of the Iraq war. They adopted a list of eight demands including a greater student voice in university affairs and the resignations of ...

The New School in downtown Manhattan is really special-ed for libs. It’s where rich liberals send their spawn when the little rodents are too stupid to go to a real school.

They’re angry because someone told them that the free “toot” and unicorn rides won’t begin on Jan.20 as promised.

The Left’s own tactics are coming back to haunt them. This has been happening to the Left since the 1960s, however:

“Meanwhile, German students had discovered Adorno, and the re-established Frankfurt School. Yet the rapport between Adorno and the German students proved difficult. Perhaps because Adorno was reserved and the German students demanding, certain activists turned on him at the height of the 1960s. They attacked him as a bourgeois sellout; they interrupted his classes and “occupied” the Frankfurt School building. He in turn assailed their tactics and their lazy use of the term “fascism.” Disturbed by the conflict and exhausted from work, Adorno died in 1969 of a heart attack. He was 65.”

eyewitness description.

To: LincolnLover

Doctor Raoul was carrying his famous sign “If Osama was a piece of ass, Clinton would have nailed him”, and kristinn was dressed like Sandy Berger (stuff in his pockets) carrying a sign about jailing him.

Kerrey apparently was on his way into the building, then abruptly turned around and walked over to where Doctor Raoul and kristinn were standing, demanding their names. (”You got a name??!!!”)

Kristinn immediately gave him his, looking him straight in the eye - then when Kerrey turned to DR demanding his, DR said, “Nevermind,” and started calling Kerrey on his absence at one of the meetings of the commission. Kerrey called him an a/h and kept demanding. DR said he was a citizen. Looked like Kristinn spoke up then but I couldn’t tell what he said...Kerrey swore a few times.

Then as Kerrey turned to go back into the building, Raoul shouted at him that he should try to stay for the whole meeting this time (in different words) and I think it was kristinn shouting out that they hadn’t spit on him and kicked him the way Al Gore’s people did (when Kerrey ran for the Dem presidential nomination).

It was awesome.

If being called names by Kerry doesn’t get you into Heaven, then nothing will. That dude is a 1st class a/h himself, and would come in first, second, and fourth in any national a$$hole contests he entered!

Aw, so sweet. Look at them in their earthtones and their revolutionary berets and their scraggly hippie scarves. Why, it’s like ‘68 all over again! Get the camcorder so we can have a keepsake of our little darling agitators. So keeeeute! (and so clean!)

Kerry may be a moderate where he is now, but when he was in Nebraska, he was hard left. The only reason he was elected was because he was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam.

I would never question his bravery, but he was the most anti-gunowner governor I can ever remember here. Being in the military and being brave has nothing to do with your belief in whether or not private individuals should be able to own guns. He did not.

“Or was it just Iraq?”

I’m pretty sure Kerrey was against the Iraq war. The kids don’t seem to have their stories straight.

“I just don’t get why this kind of crap is tolerated in any venue, for virtually any reason.”

It wouldn't be if a bunch of identifiable right-wingers tried it. It's really really long past time these a$$holes started getting their own nonsense right back at them.
