Sheikh Al-Qaradhawi: The Muslim Nation Must Supply Weapons to Gaza

Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, accused the Arab leaders of failing to aid the Palestinians in Gaza, saying: “Arab leaders, shame on you!... Where are [the values of] Islam, Arabness and nationalism?” He added that the Muslim nation must help Gaza with money and weapons, and asked: “What use are the billions spent by the [Arab] countries on weapons, if they only keep them in storage?” Qaradhawi condemned Hamas’ critics, saying that the movement stood fast during the siege and was justified in refusing to renew the tahdiah “for nothing.”

The official warned that failure to crush Hamas completely would undermine Fatah and pave the way for the collapse of moderate Arab regimes.

He said that Hamas was fighting on behalf of Iran and Syria - the only two countries that have been supplying the movement with weapons and money.
