This guy makes me sick. What I don’t understand is why Episcopalians in New Hampshire (my home state) put up with him. From what I hear, he’s too busy promoting himself and his cause to actually do his job. He is a shameless self-promoter, in love with his own notoriety and Hell-bent on destroying the what’s left of the Episcopal church in the name of so-called “tolerance.” It saddens me to see how my church has declined by turning its back to God’s word.

You give him to much credit. He fully supports perversion and is not just placating anyone. This is a sincere act.

I think you miss the point (although I have noticed there are some guys here at FR who do seem genuinely scared to death of being in the same room with a gay person).

Here are the three main points:
1) This man is almost singularly responsible for splitting the Episcopalian church. He has done great damage to the cause of Christ in the world, and could be considered an enemy of righteousness.

2) This man claims that performing gay sex acts is natural, Godly, and acceptable. By doing so, he is leading millions of men with gay proclivities straight to hell, destroying their relationship with God and preventing them from a proper confession and absolution of their sin. Jesus rightly condemned the Pharasees to hell.

3) This man specifically states that he is going to do this prayer to represent gay people, not to represent God, and is going to avoid christian references because it would offend others. Jesus told us his message would offend people, and avoiding offense is NOT the task of a true man of God.

Tolerate means to put up with, not to give in to. We tolerate sinners, we don’t accept them. We’ve spent too much time over the past 8 years accepting things, which is why a majority of the country opposes things they should support now, and supports things they should oppose.

BTW, there is also a hypocritical aspect here. The left has been screaming about Rick Warren, saying that because Rick believes Homosexuality is a sin, he is “devisive”, and that Obama should not pick a devisive person to represent religion.

But now that this gay bishop has been picked, those on the left are applauding Obama. But this gay bishop is one of the most divisive religious public figures of our time — he broke a major denomination.

Obama could have found a heterosexual bishop who supported gays, if he wanted to be inclusive. Warren in fact WAS an inclusive pick, as he is hardly a conservative preacher. But the media, who has called Warren devisive, won’t say one word about Gene being divisive.

It is written that in the end times, people will become lovers of themselves, and there will be many false prophets and blasphemers, proclaiming the word of God.

And, that many people will be misled by false “Men of God”. And that the word and the truth will be falsely spoken.

It’s difficult to believe someone wearing a White collar is a Fudge Packer but oh well to reach his own.

Well, aside from the ‘abomination before God’ part of the Bible, those who ‘cheat on their wives’ do NOT pose with their honeys in formal portraits. One way ... they are different.

Hopefully if he has been on a felching and rimming jag he will have the courtesy to rinse his mouth and brush his teeth before his appearance. He is indeed a disgusting little worm.

Great post, Charles.

What homosexuals do not understand is that God can be provoked. He can be made angry by our acts.

Looked what he did to the Israelites who challenged Moses in the wilderness. Poof! Gone!

Well, goll-lee, Poster !!

Who are you to speak for GOD - or for the “orthodox faithful” for that matter ?

You sound like one of the “false prophets” the scriptures warn about.

He stood before God and congregation when he got married to further his career. Then when the time was right he dumped the wife and kids. Question. Does he become a Bishop if he dumps them for another woman?

No, seriously: Do you really think that you have to be a homophobe to have a problem with a bishop perverting the word of God in order to justify a form of sensual gratification which is expressly forbidden in the bible some dozen times? Well, how about this: he’s a drug-using alcoholic who walked out on his wife and kids?

Her is why we left the Episcopal Church!

1.Timothy 3:1-7!!

And now it has proceeded to this. This is a typical "Drive-By" media flop. Robinson is an Episcopalian NOT Anglican Communion, which here in the U.S. and other places in the world don't agree with his election as bishop according to the above scripture. The local bishop here, who voted for him, sends out fund raising letters and I return them with Qs how he interpret this scripture. He never answers!!!

"While that is a holy and sacred text to me, it is not for many Americans," Robinson said. "I will be careful not to be especially Christian in my prayer."
