So, what are your plans for the coming debacle?
Vanity | January 18, 2009 | WCF

Posted on 01/18/2009 7:25:44 PM PST by WorkingClassFilth

This thread (if it survives the moderators) is meant to be an end of the Republic commemorative. Bracketed by end of the Julian calendar and the Chinese New year, I thought a repository of comments marking the rise of a new leftist messiah to be sardonic and fitting.

Before any FReepers hit the ABUSE button, please look around youself . . . with kooky vanities about just-the-right-puppy-breeds and the non-stop religious scripts and debates abounding on NEWS/ACTIVISM, I thought a simple question about what conservatives were personally considering doing during the promise of a new age of fascism might be worthwhile.
So, given that we're all of a conservative mindset and that (as adults) we all recognize what the next four years (or decade and beyond) might herald, I ask: What are your plans? Where do you plan to go and what do you plan to do in years of the coming darkness?

Ditto here. I plan to buy as little as possible, fortunately my lady has all kinds of crap stockpiled around here! No big ticket purchases, and I'm going to find ways around buying anything that will show up on some publically-traded company's balance sheet. Obviously, that will be impossible with gasoline, and there may be a few other such items, but I can figure out how to get what I need for at least the next couple of years without feeding the beast.

I advise people to shop at thrift stores, garage sales, Craigslist and eBay. I'm going to buy my produce at the local farm market that is run by an entrepreneur. I'm going to try to trade my labor as a computer repair/networking person for goods from others and keep it off the books in any case.

Barry may be able to borrow our grandchildren blind, but he cannot "rescue" the economy without help from it's most productive citizens. And we desperately need to withhold that help!

I'm an American. Therefore whomever temporarily occupies the White House has little if any affect on me.

Unfortunately, if nObama and his thugs get their way, it won't be temporary.

King for Life.

Having grown up in the age of Reagan I have never felt anything but pride for my country. Even during the Clinton years it was still easy knowing that Clinton never had a mandate and only won because of Peroit.

But today, after watching clips of this coronation of Obama, for the first time in my life I feel ashamed of my fellow Americans. This has been a complete slap in the face to the man who bore the weight of the past 8 years on his shoulders and not only kept us safe, never allowed anyone except for those who volunteered to sacrifice anything to keep us safe.

Join the Democratic Party first and work on at least one campaign to verify your credentials. After that, do as you please.

Sorry to hear things aren’t going so great - guess I haven’t kept up too well with my FRiends. :( Big ((hugs)) to you!

Basil is one that takes to the windowsill well. Love it. We have a too cold basement now for seedstarting. I hate it. Used to start around 500 plants from pansies to petunias in our 1915 house with copper under the floor heating. This big new box house stinks as far as plants are concerned. I brought some pussywillow branches in last week and they’re popping out. So nice after a week of below zero temps.

Looking for property in the Bible Belt area conducive to stockpiling wood, gardening, etc., after ditching the house in S. California.

We are just happy to be retired and not paying taxes. I still don’t know how I am going to be able to bear seeing his face and listening to him talk thru his teeth for four years. I know, get a grip.

We’re in a good part of the country . . . unless they crash all the coal and oil industry by bringing out the UFO energy technologies. We only have an acre left but that’s more than a lot. We have water . . .

We aren’t far from different mountain ranges.

There’s lots of canyons around.

Alas, given their resources and technologies . . . GOD ALONE IS ABLE TO HIDE ANYONE AND PROTECT ANYONE.

IF

the powers that be decide to capture or do someone in or a family or neighborhood or city . . . there’s little anyone else can do about it . . . but God. A lot of their weapons and tools are not even known at all by the public.

I’m all for folks having guns and using them on evil doers.

However, in terms of coming events . . . I suspect that they will be a mixed bag in terms of effectiveness. Will depend on a lot of uncertain variables.

Myself . . . I could easily use guns to protect loved ones. Not sure about protecting myself. A huge part of me is ready to graduate from this dust ball. I care less and less about the means of such graduation though I’d greatly prefer the first elevator UP!

However, I suspect that God has His own plans for my last months, years . . . and I shall seek to comply fully with His plans, whatever those turn out to be—as He gives me grace and clear direction and enablement to do so.

I think a lot of believers will be doing great exploits—supernatural miraculous exploits for God and His Kingdom against the forces of evil and darkness.

. . . to wit . . . speaking the word and angel armies carrying out what’s spoken as though it were a direct order from God. . . . even small children doing so to the destruction of whole armies.

I remember a sci-fi novel once . . . some bloke somehow gained supernatural powers to by thought destroy armaments of the nations. So warfare became informing him of where and what such were . . . and then he quickly thought the destruction of such arms stockpiles or inventions or deployments or whatever.

I thought then that the END TIMES would see something like that. Holy Spirit will inform believers of a problem and the believers will pray and/or speak under Holy Spirit’s anointing and enemy forces will be utterly discomfitted to utterly destroyed without a trace.

We shall see.

Not likely to be a boring closing of an era, at all.

And you?

Courtesy of Jethro Tull:

Protect And Survive

They said: protect and you’ll survive
(but our postman didn’t call)
8lbs. of over-pressure wave seemed to glue him to the wall.
They said: protect and you’ll survive.
E.M.P. took out the radio
(and our milk-man didn’t call)
Flash blinded by the pretty lights,
didn’t see his bottles fall
or feel the warm black rain arrive.
Big friendly cloud builds in the West
(and our dust-men haven’t called).
They left the dual carriageway at a hundred miles an hour,
a tail wind chasing them away.
And in deep shelters lurk below, sub-regional control
who sympathise but cannot help
to mend your body or your soul.
Self-appointed guardians of the race with egg upon their face.
When steady sirens sing all-clear they pop up,
find nobody here.
And so I watch two new suns spin
(our paper man doesn’t call),

Burnt shadow printed on the road now there’s nothing there at all.
They said: protect and you’ll survive

I might have an illegal tomato stand in my driveway next summer. Heh!

There's nothing illegal about mine! Good Lord willing, and the creek don't rise, I hope to actually make a go of it this year.

I advise people to shop at thrift stores, garage sales, Craigslist and eBay.

I don't know about ebay, but the other three are already in our plans.

Don't forget flea markets and the often scowled upon art of the dumpster dive. (it's not just for leftists anymore.)

We've got a little land, and usually have a good sized garden, we're going to double the size and put in easily storable staples, potatoes, carrots, turnips, etc.. Up to now we've used the hybrids, but this year we're going heirloom and saving seeds come the fall.

If I can get the cash shaken loose, I'm also planning some chickens and rabbits for meat, eggs and fertilizer.

This month I was at the county Republican central committee meeting. I’m too conservative to call myself one of them, but I will help out. Two days after that meeting I had acquired the voter rolls from the county recorder. I am busy building a database of voters. We’ll see where it goes, and adapt accordingly.

I’m pissed. I have 62 years into helping build America. I don’t plan to leave it in the hands of the deconstructionists.

You're right - ain't even happened yet, but it's like he's already been made king.

OBAMA: The Lady of the Lake, angels sing her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom ofthe water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Obama, was to carry Excalibur. That is why I am your king!

EVERYMAN: Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

OBAMA: Be quiet!

EVERYMAN: Well you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you

OBAMA: Shut up!

EVERYMAN: I mean, if I went around sayin' I was an empereror just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away!

OBAMA: Shut up! Will you shut up!

EVERYMAN: Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system.

OBAMA: Shut up!

EVERYMAN: Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! HELP! HELP! I'm being repressed!

OBAMA: Bloody peasant!

...brass coated shoes...

I hadn't thought of those in decades. You mean the bronzed baby shoes people had made, right? Great insight.

I really think the environment and ecology is what started organizing people to alternative lifestyle compared to our parents. The peace movement also. And socialist infiltration of our schools and government.
The worst has been over the past 15 years. Thats when baby boomers started moving into positions of influence.

I think you hit the nail on the head. For myself, I will try to stand up for my values and beliefs. That’s really all any of us can do at this point.I will try to serve my church and community, and content myself with living a life of dignified poverty. My material possessions and my money, even my freedom can be taken by others. My trust in a loving God, my values and my dignity only I can give up and I have no intention of ever surrendering them. Unless the party changes, little chance exist for a national front - at least until a third party challenge is viable. Until then, personal action is all that is left. Read the nearly 100 posts here so far and draw your own conclusions.
