Talk about the political becoming personal . . .
On this evening's Hardball, Dick Armey told Joan Walsh:
"I'm so damn glad that you could never be my wife, cause I surely wouldn't have to listen to that prattle from you every day."
The former Republican representative from Texas had been wrangling with Salon editor Walsh over the politics of the stimulus package and the role Rush Limbaugh has been playing, when things got out of hand . . . [H/t reader JF.]

Yes, but USFriend has us both beat. LOL!
It appears that most have already summoned Churchill, as did I.
He is often quoted as being one who’s retorts were polite but meaningful.
If a democrap had said it to a republican it would have been considered JUST SO HILARIOUS!!
Jock strap. She's a liberal.
Perfect!
Prattle, prattle, here comes the cattle.
That’s just old Dick in his own inimitable style. Remember when he made the remark if he had done what Clinton had done, he’d be dead on the floor, and his wife would be saying, “How do I reload this thing?”
No you don't. All you care about is raw power.
We need to form an active 1994 GOP alumni division to tell these current Reps how its done. ..or should have done this 4 years ago.
A lot of old guys (but certainly not all) are like that. Screw it, they say. Who cares what anyone thinks about me anymore? I know how they feel.
Young guys still have a future to think about so they can be very PC even when they don't want to.
“WALSH: I actually care about social justice.”
Just another word for socialism.
Okay...this seemed to sum up his feelings about her...
There is that phrase again....”social justice”. Can someone tell me what that means please?
JoMa
.......Can someone tell me what that means please?.....
Rob those who work and succeed, pay off those who are lazy and fail
A friend who knows him personally swears that he didn't change during the 90’s. Perhaps his public appearances and his TV appearances were so clipped by the cameras that we didn't see the real Armey.
Glad to see the guy who lived on such a tight budget, during his first terms in DC, that lived in his office and cut his own hair in a mirror.
I truly hope that Dick Armey is back.
Well there is a marriage were there are two political views, James Carville and Mary Mattlin.
You are so right. I’ve wondered about them. How could she put up with him? Sort of like if you had to be married to Alan Colmes. You’d want to strangle him if you could ever stop laughing at his absurdities.
I think all the republicans we elect get infected by the RINO virus. It attacks them as soon as they cross into the Beltway. When they leave the Beltway, the virus wears off and they begin spouting conservatism to their constituents.
It’s a virus and they’re all sick with it. It doesn’t affect RATS because they’re sick anyway.
