Obama celebrates spending binge with cocktails and wagyu steak (over $100 a pound elitist chow)

Can the Obama administration be anymore tone deaf? After pushing his $1.1 trillion Generational Theft Act of 2009 through the House last night, the White House apparently decided to throw itself a swank cocktail party. According to ABC’s Jake Tapper, the menu included alcoholic beverages (vodka martinis are an Obama favorite, reportedly) and wagyu steak.

Yeah, “wagyu steak.” $100 per serving delicacy. I had to look it up, too.

On the heels of the most expensive inaugural celebration in American history and passage of a trillion-dollar spending binge that will saddle future generations with unprecedented debt, perhaps President Obama might consider cutting back on such indulgences.

Or is the White House exempt from “shared sacrifice,” Mr. President?

“New era of responsibility?”

Not so much.

Wagyu steak. Is that not what Nero supped as he consumed wine and played the lyre as the Great Fire of Rome consumed Circus Maximus?

This from the couple that ordered lobster dinners and champagne during campaign? I’m shocked! /sarc.

Funny how the MSM, who so happily reported the (false) stories about Palin’s (non-existent) “excessive wardrobe shopping”, aren’t making an issue about The 0ne’s increasingly expensive tastes.

The man is living like an emperor, and dares to tell us we have to “put some skin into the game?”

At least Carter put on a sweater, jeez!

We joked about Carter, too, wearing sweaters while he kept the thermostat down to 68.

” Does the White House have a budget for Presidential expenses (a set amount) or do they just cover whatever bills come in? “

IIRC, the Obamas pay for their personal food , like the lobster and caviar that Michelle favors.
Official functions are paid for by us.

The hard working, constantly dissed ,
tax paying American families that last night served their kids Hamburger Helper
paid for Obama’s wagyu and top shelf vodka.

I heard a news report that the O's press secretary said he keeps the Oval Office warm enough to grow orchids in.

First he keeps the thermostat up because he likes it warm in the oval office, now he has 100$ a lb steak at his parties. He has TWO CHEFS now, the one he kept from the Bush Admin, and his 'personal chef' he just imported from Chicago. The man is certainly living large on the taxpayers dime already.

As we head for a Depression, will he become another Marie Antoinette, who allegedly opined 'Let them eat cake' as her subjects were starving. We all know what happened to her, and if Obama continues down the road he is on, he could be 'headed' for a similar fate at the hands of irate taxpayers.

If memory serves me, the MSM excoriated Nixon for cranking up the AC so he could enjoy the fireplace in the summer. What hypocrites they are.

If you want to check it out, Wagyu steaks are sold in the Allen Bros. meat catalog (or look them up on-line - they are out of Chicago), the same Allen Brothers (ABC Steak) that Rush is constantly referring to for their great meat (hot dogs, hamburgers, gourmet stuff, etc.). I can vouch for that. Their meat is delicious (although I can’t afford the Wagyu steak). Try it, you’ll like it.
