NEW ORLEANS -- Former Klansman David Duke, who ran for governor of Louisiana, is blasting the newly appointed chairman of the Republican Party as a "black racist."
In a lengthy process on Friday, GOP leaders voted former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele into the party's leadership post.
Steele is the first African-American to hold that position.
Duke described those who supported the move as "traitorous," and cited Steele's positions on gun control, affirmative action and the death penalty in a sometimes rambling condemnation posted on his personal Web site.
"I think the insanity of nominating 'Mr. Amnesty' John McCain and now this black racist will lead to insurgency in the Republican ranks," Duke said.
He further referred to Steele as "Obama Jr." and a "servile dog of Israel."
While he has been largely off the mainstream political radar for years and no longer lives in Louisiana, Duke is still politically active, speaking largely to a fractional segment of the spectrum.
He said he was interviewed this weekend by the Washington Post, though he was not mentioned in any published items through the weekend.
David Duke doesn’t sound that much different from the ACORN/MoveOn/Code Pink crowd at times.
When I read gun control my 2nd Amendment alarm went off. Does anyone know Steele’s position?
This sure means we have the right guy!
David Duke, the nose job Nazi, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Arab League. Duke should hang out with Chomsky and Soros. They all have a lot in common.
“new rnc chairman is black racist”
all republicans, no matter what race, are racists. all democrats, no matter what race (almost all white) are pure, clean, saintly, without sin.
repeat: all democrats are pure, saintly and sinless, all republicans are racists.
repeat: all democrats are pure, saintly and sinless, all republicans are racists.
repeat: all democrats are pure, saintly and sinless, all republicans are racists.
repeat: all democrats.....(ad nauseum)
IMHO
Some one like Tom DeLay would be.
This almost comes off as satire it is so stupid sounding.
Right! David Dukes is someone who has the ear of America. In his dreams.
Exactly! The problem is, he actually advances the premise that anyone who stands up against the illegal alien invasion of our nation, is a racist. He is therefore hurting his cause and the cause of non-racist citizens without knowing it. Dumb s—t!
I have heard Steele interviewed several times, and I think that he is unusually intelligent and admirable. We should be proud to have him affiliated with the Republican Party, and we should be overjoyed to have him as chairman.
Shouldn’t David Duke be sucking up to Cindy Sheehan or something?
“David Duke, the nose job Nazi, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Arab League. Duke should hang out with Chomsky and Soros. They all have a lot in common.”
True, a helluva lot more in common with far leftists than mainstream conservatives.
I believe he has been sympathetic to ‘reasoned’ assault weapon legislation. As if...
Pandora’s box creaks...
Not good. Could have been a lot worse.
My opinion of the RNC chair, is that he either supports Conservative candidates or he doesn’t. And if he supports them, good Conservatives will invariably be ushered in with his efforts.
While I want folks that get Conservatism across the board in elected offices, I’m not convinced that Steele will be anything but a great asset as the RNC head.
We shall see.
I’ve always assumed that mr duke was a plant to make racists look stupider. I mean he does a great job
Should people have access to buy assault weapons?
A: "Society should draw lines. What do you need an assault weapon for, if you're going hunting? That's overkill."
And I would have thought that he would have complained more about Steele being a Catholic.
amen to that
Wouldn't be much of a Democrat party left...
Steele thinks the 2nd Amendment is about hunting.
I could care less about David Duke, but I do care about the new chairman’s positions regarding gun control, affirmative action, and the death penalty. Can anyone elaborate on Steele’ positions on these issues?
