[ sniff ] I love a happy ending.
In Minnesota, the off-duty Agent would be behind bars for not running away while searching for a cell phone.
I’m not kidding...
A good criminal!
(sorta like a good terrorist - assuming room temp. and ready to start pushing up daisies.)
A.A.C.
The suspect ignored that order and pointed his weapon at the agent, he continued. It was at that point that the agent, obviously fearing for his life, shot the suspect.
Seconds after that shooting, a second man fired at the agent from the liquor stores front door and fled, Ortiz said. The gunman remains a fugitive.
Two things are coming to mind. Confronting an armed attacker poses the challenge of when to shoot. The case here is the second unseen assailant. The agent was lucky. The second problem is not shooting an assailant in the back while they are retreating. The retreat could be intended to gain cover to regain tactical advantage. Of course the gun grabbers and criminal victim hustlers would claim murder for shooting an attacker who was retreating possible for cover. By hesitating to avoid a murder charge, one greatly increases their chances of losing the encounter.
Excellent!
Not around here. They're not called "Stop & Robs" for nothing. Some even have quite a fearsome rep in da 'Hood. "Saturday night knife & gun club -- shoot you and dance on your body" type of thing....
Why the heck is this the case? A professional SHEEPDOG ought to be required to carry his teeth 24/7 or he risks being forced into the role of sheep and that is simply unacceptable.
Hero alert! Way to go Agent!
An off-duty customs agent shopping at a west Houston liquor store shot and killed a man who attempted to rob the store Friday night, police said... The border patrol agent was wearing his uniform T-shirt and pants but also had on a civilian windbreaker at the time of the shooting, according to the agency. He was authorized, but not required, to carry a weapon when off duty. The dead perp must have been a Branch Davidian. /sarc
