Gang of children - some as young as TEN - caught slowly roasting puppies over bonfire (See pic in URL) By Jaya Narain 04th February 2009

A gang of children aged as young as 10 were caught trying to roast a pair puppies over a bonfire. Passerby Melanie Johnson spotted them kicking the pups and holding them over the fire on a canal bank. The youngsters fled, abandoning the dogs, when she challenged them.

Ms Johnson, 32, took the puppies home, then passed them on to an RSPCA centre where staff treated the dogs and are now looking to find them new homes.

I'd say it's 50-50. Pakistani Muslims might do this, and Muslims are apt to remember what Mohammed had to say about dogs.

But some of the slum youth in the UK can be pretty vile, too. Remember this movie?

I don't think that these types of things are all that more common today than 50 years ago. Evil, ignorance and bad parenting has been around forever. We are now more knowlegable of these occurrences than we were 50 years ago due to cable TV and the internet means of mass communication.

When one of these monstrosities finally comes for someone you love, then talk to me.

I am talking to you now.

Execution for killing a dog?!?

I eat animal flesh every day, what is to be my punishment?

I hope you are not in charge of anything important.

“...caught slowly roasting puppies over bonfire..”

Mon Dieu! Everyone knows puppies should be quickly stir-fried!

More important than race is what religion are they? Since it doesn't say I suppose they could be any, but Islam is the only religion that sees dogs as “unclean”. A natural reaction for children that age would be to cuddle a cute little puppy not torture it to death. They must have learned this sick behavior from someone. Either their parents are monsters, or they are Muslim. Same difference in the end I guess.

People (of any age) who do this sort of thing, will likely NEVER be productive members of society. Don’t delude yourself.

Playing the part of apologist for psychopathic behavior is not a stance I would want to take.

Yes, hasn’t it been noted that children that are cruel to animals grow up to be murderers?

"I eat animal flesh every day, what is to be my punishment?"

I suppose you torture those animals to death by slowly roasting them alive over a fire too? You must be so proud of yourself.

Cruelty to animals as a youngster, child abuse and arson is the triumvirate of traits common in many serial killers.

Yes, and if they are forced to eat carrots too they grow up not only to be murderers, but serial murderers.

spare us the hysterics, please.

The crime is animal cruelty. And I’ve read that most serial killers get their start torturing animals before stepping up to humans.

As far as I’m concerned these kids should be put down NOW before they continue on that path!

Possible the kids were street kids looking for a meal?

“Possible the kids were street kids looking for a meal?”

I’d have to believe that is highly improbable. Would the UK really permit roving bands of starving children? Most homeless are adults, although they may have children with them.

Nasty little barbarians is the more logical conclusion.

I am not playing a part, I am looking for conservatism.

I eat animals that live on feed lots, and they have NO right. Either do dogs.

“People (of any age) who do this sort of thing, will likely NEVER be productive members of society. Don’t delude yourself.

You are the one kidding yourself. This sh-t happens every day in every country.

I object to lynching 10 year olds — So, playing the part of a child murderer is not a stance ‘I’ would want to take.

Consider yourselves taken to task.

“But St Peter, they were torturing a DOG!!” — good luck!

-—what is the crime?

The crime is torturing animals. Helpless animals.

BTW, torturing animals is usually the first step for serial killers.

Now if it had been cats...

Just kidding. These little "east asian" kids at least need a severe hiding.

Horrible crime, agreed. They need to be watched closely.
The parents need to be watched as well.

My only objection is the lynch-mob mentality here, makes us look bad.
