The Million Gunowner March
by Skip Coryell

Last week I received the below email from a lady in Belgium who had just read my book "RKBA: Defending the Right to Keep and Bear Arms". She was distraught and discouraged because her beloved country was no longer what it used to be. Here are her words.

"Another nutcase criminal entered a baby/little kid's daycare center... and he began to stab the kids with a knife! You know what the adults who are supposed to take care of the kids did? One was stabbed himself, but two others ran away. One hid behind a closed door and watched through the window while the kids got slaughtered and another one ran away and left the kids alone with the attacker! Two babies died, several kids badly wounded... The country is in shock, how is this possible? ...No one said anything about the cowardly behavior of the two adults who ran away. They told it like it was a normal reaction, a normal thing to do..."

I can sense the outrage in her voice when I read her words. This woman, once a patriotic and proud citizen, was now a mere subject, and ashamed of what her country had become. Thanks to the miracle of gun control and pistol-free zones, two more babies are dead.

I did some research and learned that in June of 2006, reacting to a racially inspired shooting in Antwerp, a Draconian gun ban went into effect in the country of Belgium. Citizens were required to turn over their firearms to police, without compensation, or, in the case of antiques, were required to render them permanently inoperable.

In the words of my reader in Belgium "The country is in shock, how is this possible?" The answer is simple: cause and effect. When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. In this pitiful case the man didn't even have a gun. He was loaded down with knives; he was mentally ill, and he arrived at the crime scene on a bicycle, did his killing, and then rode away - on a bike. Folks this is sad and shameful. Six adults couldn't stop one crazy man with a knife on a bike.

"One man with a gun can control 100 without one. ... Make mass searches and hold executions for found arms." - Vladimir Lenin -

Apparently, one man with a knife can now control six people without. But then again, it's easy for us Americans to sit back and make fun of Europe. After all, we are the land of the free, the home of the brave. Right? Well, not so fast. In many states in America, including my home state of Michigan, the outcome would have been the same as in Belgium, because daycare centers are one of the hallowed and sacred pistol-free zones. (Sacred and revered, but only to law-abiding citizens, because criminals pay them no heed.)

For two centuries, us damned Yankees have enfleshed the attitude of freedom and independence. But now, have we changed? Is Obama fiddling as Washington DC burns? In my opinion, America has lost much of its spunk, much of its spirit, and much of its grit. We have become less heroic and more sheeplike. We are no longer leaders, but followers. In light of the outcome of the last elections, have we become simply Euro-sheep? I am ashamed to admit that many of my fellow Americans have indeed succumbed to oppression and have lost their will to fight. They would rather have peace than freedom.

I received another email just yesterday. It was from a fellow patriot who said:

"I am a fellow gunowner and supporter of the second amendment. I have been chatting with a bunch of fellow gun lovers on the S&W forum about trying to get a million man march on Washington organized. Since I know very little about doing so, I thought I'd write you on behalf of all of us. We would like to get some help organizing such an event. We would like to be able to get the word out to as many gun owners as possible and encourage them to join us."

That idea struck me as good, so I got involved. First, I emailed Ted Nugent and asked him to headline a "Million Gunowner March" on Washington DC. Here is his response:

"It is time. IF coordinated with NRA, GOA, JFPOFO, MCRGO, SCI, NWTF, RMEF, DU, FNAWS, etc etc & all gunrights orgs, I would be proud to join/lead the fray!!!"

This is how it works folks. Every revolution throughout history has always started with a single person. One ordinary person wakes up, looks around and says "Hey! This isn't right! Someone should do something! "And that someone is you and I. We are one small part of the Million Gunowner March. The next thing I did was email Chuck Perricone, Executive Director of Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gunowners and asked if they'd like to be involved. His response was similar to Ted's:

"The answer is, "YES"...and we'd like to handle the press/recruiting. We can knock this out of the park. FANTASTIC idea, Skip."

Hmmm, I see some possibilities here. I see excitement. I see motivation. I see patriots with guns! I see a peaceful (but loud) march on Washington DC, on the Capitol steps, down Pennsylvania Avenue, with Ted Nugent singing his electrified version of the National Anthem as loud as he can. Maybe I can get Toby Keith too? And I like that song by LC Greenwood "God Bless the USA". That one just brings chills to my tired, old, gun-totin' body.

I'll have to check into that. In the meantime, I logged on and bought the domain name www.milliongunownermarch.com. It is my donation to the cause. Now, since I'm computer clumsy, we need someone to step forward and build the website. Any computer-savvy volunteers out there willing to build a website for us?

You know the frustrating part of a movement, is that too many people wait for someone else to step forward and do what needs doing. It's known as the crowd mentality. People wait until it looks safe, then they step out and join. A few weeks ago I quoted Mark Twain, and it bears repeating.

"In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, brave and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."

Well, America, this is the beginning of a change and it is no time for the timid. This is the time for brave men and women to stand up and be counted. Because, I just have a feeling, that America's time may be running out. I don't want to live in a nation of Euro-sheep. I want my children to inherit the freedom our forefathers knew. But freedom has to be protected or it will fall. I suspect, my freedom-loving friends, that we are at a crossroads. Now, assuming we are smart enough to see it, and that we are brave enough to take the road less traveled, perhaps, America, just perhaps, there is still time to save our liberty. The time to act is now. We must march now, or forever hold our piece (rendered inoperable by the government).

So, I'll ask again. "Who's going to build that website?" Send your response to skipcoryell@hotmail.com. But please hurry, Obama is warming up his fiddle.

Skip Coryell lives with his wife and children in Michigan. He is the author of six books including his newest "RKBA: Defending the Right to Keep and Bear Arms", the Ted Nugent-acclaimed book "Blood in the Streets: Concealed Carry and the OK Corral, the hunting novel "Bond of Unseen Blood", and the Second Amendment novel "We Hold These Truths". He is an NRA Instructor and co-owner of Midwest Tactical Training, teaching CPL classes in both Michigan and Iowa. He also owns and manages White Feather Press. Any such march would have to be a march of unarmed gun owners. We'd have to leave the hardware at home because the fascists would use any excuse to paint it as a rebellion.

Over a month ago, on this site I suggested that a million marchers carrying canes, brooms or umbrellas to symbolize the weapons they owned would be a non-threatening but very clear way to show the fascists what they are up against.

Unarmed the first time we march on Washington. The second time....

Here's a repost of the release that I originally posted in #3, and asked the mods to obliterate due to the link having a tracking reflector. It now has a direct link to the URL. This arrived in my email after the stuff in the original post.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Michigan Takes Lead in Organizing National Gun Rights Rally

The Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners (www.mcrgo.org), the largest state-based firearms advocacy group in America, is laying the groundwork for a national rally in Washington D.C. next spring. The Million Gun Owner March will demonstrate broad national support for the recognition--and preservation--of the Second Amendment.

"In the wake of last spring's D.C. vs. Heller U.S. Supreme Court decision which protects an individual's right to possess a firearm for private use and the renewed importance placed on the issue of gun rights across the country, the time is ideal for this historic gathering of gun owners at our national and state capitols," stated State Senator Alan Cropsey (R-DeWitt), a member of the MCRGO Board of Directors.

"Our lawmakers need to understand that America's gun owners come from all races, genders, political viewpoints and economic backgrounds," added Chuck Perricone, MCRGO's Executive Director.

The Million Gun Owner March is the brainchild of Michigan based author and Second Amendment advocate, Skip Coryell (www.whitefeatherpress.com). Mr. Coryell recognized the need to speak up after receiving an e-mail from a distraught woman in Belgium who related the story of a knife attack at a daycare facility in that country following a draconian gun ban that left staff helpless. Many gun owners have expressed fears in recent months that legislation to restrict access to firearms for personal defense may soon be introduced in Congress and state legislatures.

"This is the beginning of a period of historic change in our nation's history and it is no time for the timid. This is a time for brave men and women to stand up and be counted. We want our children to inherit the same freedom our forefathers know. Freedom has to be protected or it will fail. We are at a crossroads. The time to act is now," explained Mr. Coryell.

Rock-n-roll legend and Second Amendment activist Ted Nugent reinforced MCRGO's efforts by adding his enthusiastic support for the march: "A Million Gun Owner March on Washington DC in the Spring of 2010 is indeed building much steam across the hinterland. All pro-Second amendment groups must be on board and perfectly coordinated. I would be proud to rally, promote, lead and speak to whatever degree the people so honor me with."

MCRGO is building partnerships with a variety of organizations around the country to plan the Million Gun Owner March in Washington for the spring of 2010. The day long rally will occur simultaneously with events at state capitols all over the United States and in many local communities. People interested in receiving more information about the event and volunteering to be a local organizer can register at www.milliongunownermarch.com beginning Friday, February 6, 2009. Questions regarding the event can be directed to Skip Coryell at skip@milliongunownermarch.com.

"Michigan is enthusiastic about taking the lead role in organizing this march," said State Representative Joel Sheltrown (D-West Branch), the First Vice Chair of MCRGO. "We have already seen an outpouring of community interest and support for this effort from churches to union halls in every corner of our state. I encourage Michigan gun owners to help make history by offering their help for the Million Gun Owner March."

Wouldn't a million gun march be more effective?
At what? Creating a million new widows to sign up for social security benefits?

Or to put it another way, ask any surviving members (or descendents) of "The Bonus March."

Would The Ø allow it?

No he would not. Anyone planning on carrying should plan to be disarmed and arrested - peacefully. If 20 people did it we'd look lie idiots. If 20,000 did it the DC establishment would freak and it would be impossible for the MSM to ignore.

I haven't been arrested in decades. This may be the only good excuse to by a POS Hi Point 9mm carbine.

We're there! I can guarantee busloads from shooting sports, gun clubs and Ducks Unlimited chapters from throughout New England.

However, and this is a big however, someone would need to put a muzzle on Ted Nugent.

"Decked out in full-on camouflage hunting gear, Nugent wielded two machine guns while raging, “Obama, he’s a piece of s**t. I told him to su*k on my machine gun.

Hey Hillary,” he continued. “You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless b***h.” Nugent summed up his eloquent speech by screaming “freedom!”

On the face of it, Nugent is a great guy, but I can assure you, that many gun-owners participants would cringe at being associated with this kind of rhetoric, if they attended. FWIW.

Just talked to the wife about this and even though she’s just out of surgery for a broken ankle...

Her statement was; “You can zip tie my frigging protest sign to my wheelchair, I’m going!”

Many reasons have been offered why the Obama and the Left hate Sarah so much. If you go for the superficial, knee-jerk reaction, you would think it would revolve around the abortion issue, her religious beliefs or her strong conservative positions.

But this thread has got me thinking. Obama and his Marxist buddies are not superficial, are rational in an ideological sense and are focused on creating a permanent autocratic Presidency. To accomplish they must find a way to disarm Americans. It is one thing to pass legislation and to invite protests and dissent but it is another thing for millions of American gun owners able to mount a counter-revolution.

Ayres said it perfectly. A revolutionary government has to be prepared to purge 25m recalcitrant Americans and the only way that can be accomplished is if somehow the government can convince or force its citizens to hand over their guns.

Sarah is primarily hated by the rational Marxists, quite simply, because she is a strong defender of the 2nd Amendment and is so passionate on the issue that she would be able to sway millions of votes to her side on that one issue alone and would never agree to Americans rendering themselves defenseless to the power of the government.

Since this is still in the planning stage, I have one small request. Spring 2010 is a long way off. 0 has moved at lightening speed in just 3 weeks. Biden’s manufactured crisis theory will happen around June or July this year and according to him we won't like the way they react to it. It'll take a while to work it's way out. I figure by November this year we'll be waist deep in a huge constitutional crisis.

Just so happens one of the worst assaults to our 2nd ammendment right happened in 11/30/1993 when the Brady Bill became Public Law No: 103-159. In my opinion, 11/30/2009 would be both symbolic and substantive and would probably draw 2 million people which is about 1.9 million more than the “million man march” had.

No matter when it is - God willing, most of my family will be there.
