PRIVATE school: $32,000 a year per student.

We are already at $269,000, and we havent even gotten to taxes yet.
Five hundred thousand dollars the amount President Obama wants to set as the top pay for banking executives whose firms accept government bailout money seems like a lot, and it is a lot. To many people in many places, it is a princely sum to live on. But in the neighborhoods of New York City and its suburban enclaves where successful bankers live, half a million a year can go very fast.

Perhaps build a tall fence around NYC to prevent liberals from doing that?
Are you kidding? My daughter, who is a licensed teacher in one state but now lives in another, tutors for $25 an hour.
>>> Barbara Corcoran, a real estate executive, said that most well-to-do families take at least two vacations a year, a winter trip to the sun and a spring trip to the ski slopes.
I don’t have any sympathy for them. I haven’t had a vacation in 5 years.
I do find it funny that the New York Times is complaining about how bad Obama’s limits are going to hurt. How about hitting up Hollywood while he is at it?
LOL! Escape from New York City starring Kurt Russell as “Snake Pliskin.”
“Are you kidding? My daughter, who is a licensed teacher in one state but now lives in another, tutors for $25 an hour.”
Yea - that’s more like it...and I bet your kid can do just as well as the tutors of the “beautiful” people.
Keep in mind that the Nanny is usually live-in, so she gets room and board plus the salary.
“Fair enough,
Public School: Already in your taxes”
Not entirely. If your kids ARE in public school, it costs you more than just your taxes.
Sure seems so since she has a waiting list and the schools around are wanting her to come and work for them. I cannot imagine living in New York. Our house, and it is a nice house, but nothing lavish. It is 1500 sq ft, plus we have a full basement. It has a wrap around porch and a large rear patio, on 20 acres. Our mortgage is $1300 a month. I see things on here like $14,000 a year for a government apartment, I cannot understand that. What do people make who work at McDonald’s for example, or Wal-Mart?
I figured as much regarding your daughter, one does not have to spend $250/hr to find someone who can teach reading or math, unless they’re trying to send some other message.
There is a direct relationship between areas the Dems control and the costs to live there.
Now, folks in finance are pretty much all in the net 50% tax bracket, so that means, yes, you have to make $140,000/year just to pay school tuition.
*I* didn't vote for the Messiah (PBUH), and most folks I know here are as mad as Freepers about him.
We should have started 20 years ago. Too many yankees taking over down here already.
The day Texas will cease being Texas is when they outlaw the death penalty. When enough commielibs move down here and are able to get that banned is when I will throw up my hands and leave the state for good.
“We should have started 20 years ago. Too many yankees taking over down here already.”
Can’t argue that...and the Supreme Court will likely take care of the death penalty for us...unless we say bye-bye to their jurisdiction.
