The Collapse of the Israeli Left, the Return of Likud
Commentary Magazine ^ | February 10, 2009 | David Hazony

As soon as we’ve caught our breath regarding Kadima’s hairline win (according to exit polls only), the real story that emerges is the utter gutting of the Israeli Left, and the return of Likud.

Of the four major parties today, three of them are Likud and its spin-offs: Kadima was founded by Ariel Sharon and is mostly made up of former Likudniks; Yisrael Beitenu’s chairman cut his teeth as the head of the Likud’s central committee.

Ladima and Livni are Centrists, not Center Rightists. Third Way, haflway Socialist, halfway capitalist, like Blair and Clinton has seen its heyday, and is over. That goes for BHO as well. Jus5 be patient... his day of reckoning will come too.

Sorry, meant to include this, from Women in Green, with the poster.

Dear Friends,

Menachem Ussishkin, one of the leaders and founders of the Zionist movement, President of the 20th Zionist Congress, said, among many other strong statements about our right to this Land: "WHEN THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL WILL REDEEM THE LAND OF ISRAEL, THE LAND OF ISRAEL WILL REDEEM THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL."

Today, Tuesday, February 10th, we in Israel are going to the polls to vote for a new leadership.

Some people are still wavering as to whom to vote for.

At a time when internal and external enemies have only one agenda: taking away from us the Land of Israel; shrinking Israel back to its 1948 borders and create a Arab Jihadist terror state in Judea and Samaria in order to destroy the State of Israel; it is clear that we, in our vote, must focus on the issue of the Land of Israel and we must make sure to elect as many Land of Israel Knesset members as possible.

Women in Green call upon all to vote for the party that has the most proud Jewish Zionist patriotic leaders. Leaders, religious and non religious, who do not fear to tell the left, the Arabs and the world that the entire Land of Israel belongs to the People of Israel based on the Torah of Israel.

May Hashem give the People of Israel the wisdom to oust the Left and install a Jewish government that is true to our heartfelt ideals of Eretz Yisrael to Am Yisrael based on Torat Yisrael.

With Love for Israel,

Nadia Matar - Anita Finkelstein

The collapse of the Left in Israel is really the big news here.

Considering the fact that Labour had near total control for the first three decades of Israel's history, and were indeed considered "moderate" in '48 compared to some of the other parties goes to show how far Israel has come.

The same will happen here once the Messiah’s “security” policies result in dead Americans.

Yisrael Beitenu holds all the cards. They most likely will go with Likud even though they refused to commit before.

For the sake of Israeli national survival, the Likud must pull off a victory, even it it means forming a coalition.

How could voters "split their vote?"

There is a separate ballot for Prime Minister. Therefore, you could vote for the Labor candidate for Prime Minister, and the Likud party in the knesset.

Looks like the lib woman won. So where do you get you info.?

Michael Medved mentioned tonight that the calling of Livni as winner was based on exit polls, which do not include the military (a huge percentage of the vote) because the army votes seperately.

She will head, but in truth the conservatives will hold the real power by the numbers.
