Starve The Beast (A FR Actvism Thread to Combat the Rape of the American Taxpayer)
my derranged cerebrum | Feb. 15th 2009 | Mad Dawgg

Posted on 02/15/2009 11:52:47 AM PST by Mad Dawgg

This Thread is to bring together Freepers to institute a legal way to Starve the US government of our Tax Dollars. Please add any and all suggestions to this thread for legal ways to STARVE THE BEAST!

Spread the Word to your Non-Freeper Friends. Show people how to keep more of their hard earned money and get more back from Uncle Obama.

OK so here goes:

So you feel like its all hopeless. You feel the inmates are in charge of the asylum.

Yeah its bad BUT there is something we can all do. AND it benefits yourself WHILE putting it to the looters in Washington.

First understand that the engine that drives Liberalism/ Socialism is taxpayer money. Without it they can't do all the crap they wish to.

So the first thing to do is strangle the dollars going to Washington on a weekly basis.

How you ask? Its simple really. Contact your employer and change your withholding on your W-2 Forms. Claim more dependents. This takes less out of your paycheck to send to Washington. (I suggest you claim one or two more than you actually have.)

Take that extra money per pay period and put it in a local bank in a Savings or Money Market account.

If at Tax Time you then owe some back you have it in your savings and you have made money on it rather than giving Uncle Sam a tax free loan on your money.

The next thing you can do is turn a hobby or interest into a legal side business and use it for more tax deductions. (Contact your accountant on the particulars on how to legally do such)

One of the benefits of turning a hobby into a side business is you can take a holiday vacation and legally turn most of it into a tax deduction.

-No restaurant food. NONE!
-Bicycle commuting starts in about a month.
-Thermostat turned down.
-Flourescent lights.
-Actively and aggressively control and Combine driving trips.
-Buy used and from garage sales and Craigslist whenever possible.
-Getting ground ready for 1,500 sq ft garden.
-Save money PHYSICALLY. As in the proverbial mattress. Take it out of circulation until I actually need it. Banks pay so little interest as it is that the cost is minimal anyway.
- avoid activities that require licenses (fishing, etc.).
- entertain yourself with free activities - rollerblading, walk in mall (but don’t buy anything) hiking, reading books you bought at garage sales.

Avoid activities which involve actually spending money and earning “taxable” money.

If all of us were to cut back just five percent, it would shut ‘em down.

The main point is to be like me. I end up PAYING taxes every spring, but just below the “penalty” limit. Instead of the government borrowing my money, I borrow theirs.

And I don’t have to worry about a refund IOU. :)

>>That’s not going to last long. Sales tax is already the buzz on Ebay.
Go to Craigslist. Barter.<<

And garage sales.

The only things I buy on Ebay are “unique” items. I bought a new driver for a blown tweeter in one of my speaker monitors a year ago.

Everything else is Craigslist, garage sales, etc. Paperback books and stereo equipment?! Virtually free!

When I buy online, I use companies that don’t have brick and mortar in my state. No sales tax.

I no longer take this government seriously. I ignore laws. I obey morals.

I obey “laws” only when a “cop is around”.

Just a note-
Landlines are important for two reasons:

1. They are secure lines, whereas cells (and cordless) are not.
2. The corded phone generally works in a power outage, storm, etc.

The ONLY thing that gets me into a 401k is matching funds. Take that away and I’m out.

You don’t want cordless phones either. They defeat the security and reliability advantage of the land line.

I do the same, more so for convenience now, because NY State taxes on online purchases, at least they do with Amazon. It might not be the same for smaller companies.

BTW....The congressional seat left open by Gillibrand is being held March31st. John Tedesco conservative R is running..if you could a few bucks it might be a good way to start the ball rolling by us freeper supporting conservative candidates through out the country.

Never said to break the rules; only to make sure you don’t give a dime over what you have to on a regular basis, or to calculate so that even though you might not have had enough withheld, to make sure it is below the point where a penalty is incurred.....

1. Use coupons if you can; the government hasn’t figured out how to tax us on money we didn’t spend.

2. Grow a garden for fresh vegetables. At least put in some pepper and tomato plants. Take the money you save and donate it to your church, again reducing taxes.

3. Get extra money by holding a garage sale, selling on Craig’s list. This money is usually not taxable because if you are selling used goods you are selling at a loss.

The camera idea to get legislators on the record answering some tough questions is a great idea, like O’Reilly did Ayers, when they least expect it and can’t hide behind MSDNC
